    Default Crafting level 150+??

    OK,

I have a capped crafter (150 x 3) and noticed that after I capped him I was still getting xp for deconning. In fact once I noticed that, I looked and saw that even though my crafting levels show 150, the amount of xp for each school is way above what it required to hit 150.

So, the question of the moment, when they do increase the crafting levels, will all the crafting xp that I have "banked" during deconing translate into levels or will the amount of xp be reset to amount required to get to 150?

This is mainly directed at the Dev's to answer but would also like to get opinions from other crafter/non-crafters.

    Thanks, and keep it clean!

Well, when they first launched crafting and the cap was 50 or whatever it was, it worked that way ... you kept getting XP, and when they added more levels (and adjusted the scale, i think) you "suddenly" leveled up to what your total xp would put you at ... so I imagine the same will apply.

Update 13 was originally going to add in crafting recipes up to 200. There were...issues...and the extra recipes were pulled for reworking. But the XP table was left in place, so it's possible to decon your way to 200 right now (although this would take a really enormous amount of items, 20-30,000 of them).

I knew they pulled the update to crafting so they can work a new system and due some to issues; but I had not seen the release note that they were leaving in the "new" xp system in place.

Btw, your talking to a player who, when TR'ing keeps everything from every chest, because that +2 hide armor you got from the WW spider chest is, to me, actually crafting xp and essences. so 20-30k items, while insane, probably is not out of reach for me by this summer....lol

My crafting experience stopped dead at 81,905 (the amount required for level 150) - neither crafting shards nor deconstructing items increased it any further. How much crafting experience do you have?

I was curious about this yesterday when they announced the doubled XP from decon, so I took a quick look (and fortunately, I have a good example character).

Level 150 is 81905 xp per school. That's 245,715 total XP.

My main crafter has been leveling up exclusively on decons. I forget the exact numbers, but it was something in the area of 1950 items deconned and 7000 total XP earned from it. It came out to an average of 3.6 XP per decon. I'm going to assume that 1900 data points is a decent enough spread. It covers all range level items, from ML:2 to ML:19 (but mostly 12-18).

So to go from 0 to 150 in all schools takes 245715/3.6 = 68254 items.

The increase per level is pretty low and linear in that range. Figure 1140 XP per level from 150-200 (that will be off, but approximate), that's another 171,000 XP, for another 47,500 decons.

As a side note, it takes roughly the same amount of XP to get crafting from 150-200 as it takes to get from 0-126.

    Ouch...

Figured out the disconnect last night.

Even though my crafter is showing 150 x 3, I forgot that he is getting the Artificer and Dargonmark of Making extra levels.

So I guess that I do not have a capped crafter after all....I have an adjusted capped crafter.

I guess if I ever get to the required xp for unadjusted 150, I will see if the situation continues...probably not.

...move along, nothing to see here after all.

I have no real tips but I can tell you how I got though the upper levels.

    1. Quest

    2. Take everything from chests, and I mean everything
    - that +2 hide armor from WW is 1 point after deconning

    3. Turn everything worth less that 5000pp base value into essences

    4. Wait until you have multiple thousands of each type

    5. get a 15 % xp pot

    6. pull everything that you will need onto your crafter, this means all collectables and other ingredients not in the green bags

    7. drink the pot and craft like mad for 15 straight mins, take no breaks, respond to no tells. Use all you time effectively.
    - I usually concentrate on one school until I have no more ingredients and then move onto one of the other schools.

    8. As you are creating new shards watch for level increases in the school you are leveling. When you get a level up, change the level range of the recipes to you new zone.
    - I would only craft recipes that were 100%. If you start out crafting on those huge xp recipes that are at 50%, then when you get to those levels you will have fewer recipes to craft off.

    9. rinse and repeat, this way you creep forward very slowly as you decon and collect, but jump forward when you do craft.

I tried to burst craft at least once a week.

Really the most effective way that I found was to roll and human artificer and burst craft him up to 130 x 3, while still a level 1 toon, and then level him up to 20 taking all three dragonmarks. That way the levels that you replace with the free dragonmark and artificer bonus levels are the ones that cost the most to get through.

Just my opinion. If you do a lot of alts and TR's then having a max level crafter makes things almost too easy as you can twink specific gear to your play style/class.

Enjoy the grindy grind that is crafting.
