18/2 With S&B AC

I've been doing the numbers on an 18pally/2monk tank. I would like to work toward AC but I also want to hide behind a shield.

Is their a good way to get 90+ AC without losing either Shield Mastery benefits or evasion? I feel like I must be missing something.


My current AC breakdown

10 shield (9 Lorriks +1 alchemical on DT or Icy's)
9 Armor (8 bracers +1 alchemical)
5 Protection
4 Insight
2 Dodge (Unlocked HoGF)
3 Dodge (DT)
3 Abishai set

5 CE

4 natural(slotted or yugo)

2 sacred(Protection from Evil)

I'm not used to building AC toons so I probably missed something.

Add in 4 points Dodge for icy Rainments.

Grim's bracelet (a Necklace) will let you keep Dodge 3

Add in 2 from the set bonus.

Yeah I hate to give up the torc during tanking situations but this seems to be the best way to get more from dodge...

This gets me to 74 unbuffed yet I see posts on the forums where builds are getting 90+ unbuffed 0.o

Do these builds have to give up either evasion or a shield?

The 90 Unbuffed guy is a Dwarven fighter who's able to push a lot of max-DEX bonus out of heavy armor.

it can be done with a shield and still with evasion, take a look at this guy, who though is a fighter is an evasion build with a shield. http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p...08&postcount=1

Regarding guild buffs . . . you make be unguilded now but it's not hard to get the three points of stack natural armor in a small/low-level guild.

Add in 4 points Dodge for icy Rainments.

Or grab epic Duelist's Leather from the Cove, which gets you AC 8 + Dodge 4 (effectively Raiments + AC 8 bracers rolled into one), freeing the bracers slot for something else (Dodge +2 maybe?).

I have been planning one of these.

It becomes much easier if you just aim for 13 base str and use finess or finesse weapons.
