Post-mic plug sound awful

Question:

When I start my ddo client and log in to the game with my microphone plugged in the mic sound is fine.

If, however, I plug my mic in -after- I am already in-game my voice does awful things in chat.

I know I can just relog and start it with the mic already plugged in but is there a way to maintain fidelity post log-in?

Nope. DDO only checks at start. So mic must be in first.

I seem to have this problem as well.

If I plug in my USB headset after I'm already in DDO, the game freezes on me and I have to restart it. As a result, I've never had a chance to test how bad my voice quality might be.

Always plug in your mic/headset before launching DDO. (In my case, I have no choice. lol )
