Default Mid - Upper levels... What do groups expect?

What do groups expect from a PM in the mid to upper levels? I have not grouped in at least 10 levels!

    CoD, FoD, Haste mostly?

    Thanks!

Haste, Rage, web, displacement/blur, FoD the casters here and there, Firewall + web (if your group fights in the FW its pretty much a win for everyone)

I can't speak for most groups, but usually the pugs expect my PM to destroy everything so they can walk through the quest unscathed. It's a win-win really. I destroy mobs in one or two shots. The puggies don't die (Usually, but a wiser man than myself once said, "if there is a way to die, then a puggie will find it." Everybody enjoys not losing 10% xp!

Haste em, rage em, blur em, then go kill everything in sight. Then go kill everything else.

Arcanes in pugs are highly varied, so expect anything from the arcane piking to me piking.

As a wizard you will fill different roles depending on the quest or situation. In no particular order here are some things a party may expect from you.

1st CC - Otto's sphere of dancing is great CC along with web, or hypno.
2nd insta killing - particularly take out the casters (frequently have lower fort saves)
3rd buffing - Haste, rage, blur, and greater heroism are what I give every player when going into a difficult situation. There are many other useful buffs but these are the ones that I use most frequently (on players other than myself)
4th knock - if no rogue or arti you will be expected to knock locked doors and chests
5th dps - Firewall, and ice storm could be considered CC at times but sometimes you will use them to kill things. AoE effects like fireball are also nice depending on the situation. If it's a boss fight you may make use of the dots like eldar's electric surge and/or the single target ray spells such as polar ray or frost lance.
6th self healing - with negative energy burst and death aura most pug healer's will not even carry harm
7th SLA - always cast sla when they're off timer if you're not doing anything else.
Cannith - Noehealz, Protectorjon, Noebuffs, Mortion

sometimes it depends on the quest, if you dont know it well ask leader in advance:

-elemental spells monsters in the quest are vulnerable to, undead to death
    -ddoor in several quests
-stone to flesh in Eyes of Stone
-summon monster IV (lantern archon) in Rainbow
-fire/ice spells in inferno of the damned

you dont need cc in all quests, but sometimes dancing balls make a big difference.

my playstyle is a lot different solo and in groups..

-while soloing, I pull big groups and kite them through ice storm/acid rain (no wail yet)

-in groups, I stay back, ask if people need buffs, finger casters, and cast cc when appropriate.
