Best Barb Build?

Is shades "Legendary" DPS barb build still the "best" since it depends on the barb past life and well that was nerf'd so it doesnt stack anymore. Is it still the "best"?

Good point. I don't even know why I bother to read his posts. Didn't he just post (as fact of course, that's how he posts) that melees are completely obsolete and casters totally rule?

And now he's asking about a barbarian build (and like someone else said, no one but Shade even posts barbarian builds, because there's absolutely nothing to it... STR, CON, and the same 7 feats for pretty much every pure barbarian).

I'm pretty sure he just has a big board with different questions that he throws darts at. Nothing else can adequately explain the sheer randomness of his questions.

The barbarian past life feat essential acts like a toughness feat with a fairly useless clicky attached. If you think you need the extra hp then there's no reason not to take it over toughness.

Barbarians get plenty of hp anyway so most of the time its really not needed. I think most would get more use out of tactical feats such as stunning blow on a pure build or improved sunder on an 18/2 split.

I think the reason he took it was not because of the hp, but because for a long time it was broken, giving bonuses to regular barbarian rages. When it was fixed Shade even posted a thread demanding the devs compensate him for the loss. Look around, it's here somewhere.

18/2 Barb/Fig is good.

18/2 Barb/Rog is pretty good.

14/6 Barb/Ran is meh.

12/6/2 Barb/Fighter/Rog is pretty, pretty sweet.

You ask for a best build (which can mean anything), and THEN mention you want improved trip?

So you do want the best DPS build? Or the best tactics build? Or the best ranged barb build? Or the best self-sufficient barb build?

You gotta be more clear.

Look, barb builds are super easy... Max out STR and CON, you're done.

If you want to fit in Improved Trip and Stunning Blow though, then yes you'll need the extra feats that a 18/2 barbarian/fighter has. But your boss DPS will not be the best.

Best barb build? IDK if there is such a thing, barb is max dps and high strength, that being said I think the best build is one that lets you obtain as high str as possible and output superior DPS.

Shades Legendary dps is a very good build it splashes fighter for more feats which is nice since barn is feat starved.

I'm on my barbs 3rd life and I'm going pure barb (Horc) should be able to maintain a 74+ str regularly with eSoS will be nice only problem is I have to either drop IC slashing or GTHF which IC slashing to drop isn't bad considering eSoS crot range and I'll be Frenzy and Death Frenzy always.

Why would you drop IC? That's foolish, especially if you have an ESoS. What other feats are you taking?

Toughness, PL barb, PA, THF, ITHF, GTHF or IC Slashing, Stunning Blow,

Ill drop one of those not sure which, maybe the GTHF since more crits is always better now that I had time to think of it, I want SB because I obvioulsy will have an awesome DC to stun everything on epics.

You could drop Toughness, as PL: Barb unlocks Toughness enhancements, unless I am mistaken.

Also, you forgot Cleave from your list.

Drop Toughness. Barb PL does the same exact thing, -2 HP. Now you don't have to give up anything important.
