I actually assume the puncture wound reference was in regards to the Unicorn's Horn myself...

    - Klinsmann, a known German soccer/football player, sitting in a tavern
    - The Mighty Quinn, a red-named boss in one of the sewer quests, forgot its name -> reference to a song by Bob Dylon probably best known in its version by the Manfred Mann's Earth Band
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

And if its not already obvious enough:
Yaulthoon said : Pity you're just going to beat it up. This is why we can't have nice things.

Reference to our rabid melees that just hit anything they see and complain about quests where they can't do that?

There is Rousimov (sp), the giant bank guard, in Meridia. A reference to Andre Rousimov, a.k.a. Andre the Giant.

Hmmm, good point. The unicorn and virginal thief teamed up to take out the rest of the party for whatever reason.

I would add that "detritus" is also a word in the English language, and it is consistent with both Pratchett's troll naming patterns and DDO's earth elemental naming patterns.

Pratchet gives many of his trolls names that relate to earthy stuff (rocks, minerals, debris): Bluejohn, Chrysoprase, Brick, Morraine (Moraine), Flint.

Landslide was an earth elemental boss in The Depths of Discord long before Ataraxia's Haven came out.

I'm sure some of the devs have read Pratchett, and I would guess Detritus is probably named after Sergeant Detritus. It's worth noting the other connection, though.

OH, and the "Theatre of Dreams" in Dreaming Dark.

We already know some of the devs are Progressive Rock fans.

I always thought of that as more of an Axel from Guns 'n Roses tribute.

Also in House K., there is a dwarf guard named Ravnika, apparently named after Magic: the Gathering set Ravnica: City of Guilds.
