I quite agree here. I've heard covers of Rush by "better" singers like James LaBrie of Dream Theater, and it seemed to me that the cleaner vocals actually hurt the song.
I'd still pay large sums to get Rush to cover Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Iron Maiden to cover Xanadu, though.
i think this is the closest we have ATM

The Skeleton miniboss in Litany of the dead is called Kai-Teng Fairuza. Kiting Fair Use, kiting him is one of the easier ways to beat him.
In Reavers Refuge the Kobolds near the bar say Bah Weep Granah Weep Nini Bong. The Universal greeting from the original 1980s Transformers movie.

Part 4 reminds me of Star Castle.
You have the big guy in the middle who occasionally sends out little stars that float towards you (the blades), and then once the shields are down (the shields aren't really represented except after the first round with the gnolls), he blasts out a huge fireball shot (Delayed blast fireball).
I think Part 3 is supposed to represent an old classic video game as well, but can't place what it might be, other than just a lights out hand-held LED game.
You're a Freshmaker...
Mindtaker...
Fleshmaker don't you mess around with me.

Are you bored enough to waste scales on a Min II Shuriken? Try this!
Brinky and pain are the two bosses you find when you blow up the 2 big barrels in siedge breaker.
They refer to the two mouses from tha cartoon. Pinky and brain.
Deltabravo I have come here to FROG things up!
the music in the area around the bat rare encounter in the Vale of Twilight sounds suspiciously similar to something ive heard before.

the bucket in the quest "siegebreaker", once filled with "the unmentionable" (iirc) becomes named "Bucket of Destiny".
the description reads: "You have a bucket filled with the unspeakable. It is bound for greatness, and its valiant tale will go down in history: a bucket that defeated an army! The smell alone is legendary."

it's not really quite an easter egg or a pun, but... i figure it fits the general theme of the thread
(on a side note, to further call out the Brinky and Pain conversation earlier in the thread, there are references to both zero wing (all your base are belong to us... except it says "someone set up us the...") and of course, Brinky and the Pain. i mean, Pinky and the Brain.
Just noticed a brand new one in next week's sale page:http://www.ddo.com/ddostoresale
the coupon code for the free guild elixir is DMGMM1 which is a mashup of DMG (Dungeon Master's Guide) and MM1 (Monster Manual 1)

You have to kill Cavalier, Ranger, Magician, and Barbarian. You can find a dead Acrobat. Only thing missing from the 80s cartoon is the Thief.
Chicken Little only has to be right once.
Just about everything I knew of, and many I did not, have been mentioned already. Just one punnish one to add:
Doctor Will Ewe Rushmore
"Will you rush more?"
Apt name, fitting his challenge.
As much as I love Mentok the Mindtaker, Mentau the Fleshmaker is a reference to the Mentos commercials from the mid-80's.

Conjoined Abishai Devastador fusion dance is a homage to Voltron.
Don't forget you can see Velah talking about invading the Vault of Night in the Bogwater tavern with her dwarf lover. Also, she appear on Chronoscope too, talking about breaking into the vault.

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.
John Lonnon or Lannon in the Chronoscope phoenix tavern...pretty cool.
