That isnt cool at all... Being a wf but looking like a halfling? It kills the whole purpose of playing that specific race.... Following that logic, I can use a dagger, but it looks like a greataxe? It just isnt cool at all. The game would stop being D&D.

The point of the game is to choose between things and learn to work with them. Like any other videogame. Doing this would defeat the purpose of the game.

I do agree that the game needs a bit more of customization, but this is just another deal imo.

Model editing is done client-side only. Only he would see the changes that he makes; everyone else wouldn't even know it as everything looks normal (and still is normal).

Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to edit the models used in-game, only the UI interface. Good luck though, maybe somebody else can provide an answer!
Have you ever wanted to create your own customized user interface skins for DDO?

Oh ok... Thats relief. It still would kill the purpose of sacrificing some things to be able to play a certain toon, but if it's his decision, Its alright.

Changing models and skins is a classic way to cheat in first person shooters. Add long sticks along each axis -> visible through walls etc. Make enemy skins highly visible colours. I'd guess by changing models and/or skins in DDO you could for example:

    - make invisible mobs visible
    - make traps visible

How would changing models affect combat? Hit boxes & weapons, for example. Would you be able to make your weapons so big they would hit mobs from 200ft away?

With games that don't have collision detection based combat, I guess it doesn't make a difference. DDO is like a FPS in this respect.
    Don't feed the trolls.

Full feat tree; Cannith; change; merger; evil; win; minmaxing; FotM; deja vu; Kobolds.

That really freaking sucks, because the visibility is correct, and you totally could do that. I guess that's why they haven't allowed it in such an otherwise customizable game.

I'm relatively sure the hitboxes aren't clientsided however.

Actually I think it is against the terms of service. And no, there is no such customization to be had here or in Lotro.

Turbine has banned peoples' accounts just for looking at the client files, much less modifying them. Definitely against the TOS in their opinion.
