Default A couple free pets for Rangers/Casters/etc. down the line?

It's really annoying to have characters with summon monster or nature's ally spells who can't use them in public.
Once the expansion pack is released, could we have a couple free companions for these classes?

Now, in a perfect world, it would be the best thing ever since super sliced bread to have every single Summon Monster/NA creature available, but for moneymaking purposes I know that's way too much to ask.

But how about having 1 granted companion for each class? A lion or wolf cub for Rangers, a Spider for Wizards, etc.?
    Simple, not very bold stuff.

What purpose would one have to summon a pet in a public area?

No thanks. If everyone had one they wouldn't be special any more.
I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just gonna ask 'em where they're going and hook up with 'em later on - Mitch Hedberg

i say wizard pale master summons need to be improved or taken away completely, and as for the familiars (yes thats what a wizard/sorc would get) please but if not give them to rangers they need a decent improvement and that is a very big part of rangers in traditional dnd pnp

So rangers and such shouldn't have a free pet because it would destroy people's bragging rights?
I can live with that, dunno about you.

Nobody should have a "free" pet - you either buy from ddo store, get it from the pre-purchase bundle, be an artificer (must be bought or unlocked)... you get the idea.

Pets in public areas are really a nuisance, causing nothing but LAG. Marketplace is already laggy as it is, if everyone has a pet the place will become worse.

Seriously pets are aberrations in DDO - this is D&D, not Pokemon.

Druids, rangers, sorcs and wizzys are known to have familiars and pets. I agree that we should be able to have some that work similarilly to the ones the Artis have.

so true, wiz could really use a familiar for the same ol' reason that it gives some (not vital but significant buffs at some things) obviously it shouldn't be a combat pet.. right?

And rangers... hell they Need a pet, wolf, dire wolf, bear, don't forget about BOAR and such things... it's a classic on D&D
