Thumbs up Make the Enhancement Iron Defender functionally the same as Artificer Iron Defender

    Hi,

The Iron Defender you can gain from spending Action Points in the Enhancement UI currently acts as a summoned monster: can't be geared, doesn't persist in public, and can't be up with a summon.

I suggest that once you gain it via Enhancements, you gain the same things a lvl2 artificer does, including the UI panel.

As it stands, there are very specific requirements to take the enhancements and it's very expensive (AP-wise) to continue upgrading it on a raid-ready character to a maxed-out Adamantine Defender, all to just have a summon monster when other summon monsters are available via scrolls and named quest gear. No one I know uses the Enhancement version at all at any character level, but I would most definitely use an Enhancement version I could train and gear to function the way I want and that I could run alongside a summoned monster.

If you want to make owning the artificer class an additional requirement, then fine.

No one uses it because it is irritating. It constantly shoots grease and you have no control of it, and on top of that requires action points.

If it were to be changed then I think it should be treated like an artificer pet, but NOT scaling with your level. So it has the hireling bar, but does not take up a party slot.

Also they shoul take the grease breath away from them. that's just irritating.

I do not see them doing anything to it though, I'd rather them just take it out.

Right; I'm suggesting it just be replaced with the artificer pet: stats, hireling bar, enhancements, and all - with it leveling when you unlock the next tier via Enhancements.

There already is a way to level it and train it.....become an artificer. The reason an artificer's iron defender gets more powerful and able to control is because he has gained an understanding of how to improve it. The enhancement iron defender is a basic model that other classes can create but have not learned how to refine.
