Chatty Cathies, Raid Elite BB

Okey dokey,

Joined an Elite Shroud on my PM with some friends . Some of which wanted to keep the BB streak goin and do Shroud, some wanted more chests, I was just rollin with a couple guildies cause thats what they wanted to do and I am guild leader so...I just rolled with it. Part 5 was an epic battle with my guildy tanking harry right to the end with a cleric and FVS healing him. Drank 9 Majors with my PM wizard but this was no big deal as I save them on my melees and use them rarely on caster. Loot from extra Uber Elite Chests, a Large GD Bone (have 30+ of these) and 2 Depleted High Shav Cells (have 80+ of these) and end reward was Mysterious Artifact (I pull these often and/or buy on AH for around 55k)

So roughly 270k give or take in resources and the best loot thing I got out of this Elite Shroud was 2 High Cells Charged up at Alter. /shrug

The BEST part of the raid was watching my friend Tank Harry from 15% of his health down to completion!

BUT (yes there's a but), Why-O-Why can people not manage their XP gain in lower levels and feel like they HAVE to keep the BB goin in the Hardest Elite 17+ Content? Challenge? Hubris? Arrogance? Boredom?

The time invested and resources spent to get this completion for the few wanting to keep their BB goin just seems like a waste.

On my TRs I manage my XP well enough that I can get soooo close to cap in vale holding 18 that I can RELAX the BB expectations in 17/18+ content, have some relief from the press for XP, run raids on normal or hard w/o BB and cruise to 20 and the next life.


Failed Elite HOX was our first stoP. I've learned my lesson and will be a harda$$ and tell my guildies/friends NO when confronted with Elite HoX in the future, we are getting the pace of Hard Hounds and have had several good (not ez) but somewhat challenging runs but KHYBER players as PUGS go are not strong enough for Elite. The group leader brought 2 probably recently capped clerics (husband/wife combo) from his guild who had never even done HoX let alone Elite. I shudder to think how many times these clerics Blue Bar went from nothing to full with pots.

ONWARD To GLORY and VoD Elite!! Got completion, watched the leaders 2 guild healers chug down pot after pot to fill blue bar. I HONESTLY felt bad for those 2 clerics and the pressure put on them in these very difficult raids on their first time JUST to what....keep someone BB goin? IDK w/e

Then the loot, party chat goin crazy mics too loud, mics too soft, chat rolling by, people talking about a bunch of stupid S that has NOTHING to do with DDO and...

I miss the chance to roll to roll on Tharne's Goggles because the roll was indicated VIA voicechat and everyone was being a bunch of SEWING CIRCLE CHATTY CATHY HENS. All this happened while I was chatting with my guildy tank in party.......

"Heya Bloody (pally tank)...You want this BTC +3 Charisma Tome?"

response...

"Put it up for roll, its the fair thing to do..."

"Ok mate, after the other rolls are done....wait w...t...f ???" The Tharne's Goggles are getting looted....were they up for roll??? AND I missed it? W T F there wasn't ANYTHING typed in party chat to indicate they were for roll...

So...promptly passed the +3 Charisma Tome to my mate, (I really don't need a extra +1 on my monk Kukon-Do DC)

Ignored the protests of the tome not going for roll, recalled, dropped group and got some sleep....
