Tolero, I've fallen helplessly, madly in love with you. Please don't tell my wife. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to place my pre-orders. ((Yeah yeah, buying it for the wife too. Have to keep her happy and off our scent. Which reminds me... Note to Self: Destroy wife's panther and wolf pets when obtained...))

The Lesser Tome of Learning on Every Character Forever seems like what's going to kick the Collector's Edition over the top. It does make TRing more characters sound more tempting.

Or, buy the standard and only get a Greater for every TR character when you specifically TR them. But Greaters are 2295 TP per, vs. 30 dollars over Standard for a Lesser for everyone + 1 Greater, so it doesn't take a Kalashtar to see where this is heading.

I didn't see where Druids are 1500 TP, where is that? Edit: NVM, found right on top of FAQ.

I found a hidden gem. While looking for payment methods excepted (prolly your on file debit/credit/paypal card) I found this.

Dungeons and Dragons Online™ 11000 Turbine Point Code: Save 40% on this Point Bundle when you buy it with the Menace of the Underdark Collector's Edition! A $99.99 value for $59.99!

Now if turbine game 11 grand away with the bundle id be sold instantly. But seems it's like buying the large point bundle for 60 and getting 2.8k more tp on top of it in bonus mode.

This would probably be really great...if that point bundle thing didn't just happen.....

It is indicated, that Druid class is included into the price of Collector's edition and Standard edition.

Do I understand this correctly? If I purchase the Standard edition, I get the Druid class?

But at least they are giving plenty of notice on what is in what bundle, so at least the playercore and start saving up.

A couple of big questions for me:
Is there a way to unlock druids for free in game for ViPs, or just this "$50-$80 purchase" type of free?

and i agree, getting all the packs when one is already ViP is kinda silly, This makes me think of NOT staying vip. I always figured a reliable cash flow is more important than spikes.

(I don't mean to start the doom, it just makes me sad. The basic expansion does not give anything but quests, and it costs the amount of the Vanilla wow. The high end expansion costs more than most MMO's starting price.)

*shrugs* I know I will scrape around to get the 80 bucks to get the big pack, It just makes me sad. Do those who already bought some Packs get some sort of discount? Due to repeating a purchase?

How about a bundle with druid, the FR packs, the tomes, and the pets? I think that would appeal more people than the big premium one

Ok i take about the thing about the druid.... I think. SO according the FAQ VIP's do get the druids for free? but the website says we have to buy them?

So then i guess, Just buying the 30$ expansion is the way to go for ViPs. Unless you want all the goodies.

Its higher then I said I wanted to pay and I think VIP's should maybe get something to make up for the fact that they already have those packs or maybe people who have been long term VIP's and show no sign of changing that otherwise its a nice bundle of stuff

    The FAQ says flat out:

I’m a VIP. When the expansion launches, do I need to purchase the Druid class to play one?

Nope! VIPs get free access to the Druid class, even if they don’t buy the expansion.

Seems to me that these packs are not really for us - and with "us" I mean existing players. It appears that they are a way to get new players up and running quickly by buying a package with a lot of goodies included. So nice product Turbine, hope we will get many new players through this.

Also, a good move on your part to include Druid in VIP.

Nope! VIPs get free access to the Druid class, even if they don’t buy the expansion.

I’m a VIP. When the expansion launches do I need to purchase the Challenge pack to play it?

Nope! VIPs get free access to the Eveningstar Challenge pack, even if they don’t buy the expansion.

So if I’m a VIP, and I don’t buy the expansion, I still get access to Druid and Challenges?

    Correct!

I was fully intending on purchasing the expansion pack, but the adventure pack bundling effectively gives the impression of repaying for already purchased content. I'd then go with the Base pack, but the exclusive content to the more expensive bundles makes that in turn seem like a ripoff itself.

So, yeah. If there was a bundle around 50$ that included more of the 80$ bundle's exclusive content instead of the old adventure packs, I'd nab that straight off.
[or a 40$ one without the adventure packs, or any option that refunds old purchases, etc]

But, for now, it looks like I'll be unlocking in-game.

This isn't even a matter you can associate to consumer pickyness- repacking old content is never considered a classy move- ESPECIALLY on digital content or expansion packs, where it's entirely unnecessary.

All in all, in poor taste.

So if you are a vip the collectors bundle is a waste of money? Just the greater and lesser tomes? The pets are just distracting fluff, and the quests we already have. We get druid and challenges anyway even if we don't buy, so why spend $80 when you can spend $30 and get the same deal?

Just one question that is NOT answered by the FAQ:

Is the Druid free "right out of the gate" for VIPs? Or is it another Artificer-grind-for-favor "free" class?

Please tell me we (VIPs) can create a druid as soon as we login on June 25th!!!

Default Referal Program and the Exp Pack

Super cool stuff here. As a VIP I need to think about what I want to purchase. But I have one question which was not addressed in the FAQ.

I have two family members who have me listed as their sponser in terms of the referal program. Purchasing this pack seems to be a transaction that I as the Sponser will not reap what I consider my due compensation for being an active recruiter.

    Has this been considered?

^^^ This is what im worried about. "Free to ViP" means grind now adays. Im still debating if just the $30 is worth it if it must be favor unlocked, Or if the other 2 will be more worth it.

On a slightly related note, does the purchase make druids free for VIP and druids are part of the expansion or do druids become available to all that purchase the expansion and is free to VIP even if they don't purchase the expansion?

If you are a VIP this is what the Expansion will cost you:
    • Menace of the Underdark Adventure Packs – 2495 Turbine Points
    • Epic Destinies (account wide unlock) – 995 Turbine Points
    So 3490 Turbine points.

These are included in the VIP programme:
    • Eveningstar Challenge Pack (free to VIPs) – 695 Turbine Points
    • Druid class (free to VIPs) – 1495 Turbine Points
If you are a VIP there doesn't seem to be any need to buy these pre-purchase packs. You have all quests already. The only pre-pack that IMO could be viable for VIPs is the "Base", for $29.99, if you haven't already collected the 3490 TP to buy the expansion for, or want to capitalize on the "deal" (since getting 3490 TP's worth for $29.99 is quite good, and you'll get a Lesser Tome of Learning thrown in there as well).

So once again VIPs get screwed.

Come on Turbine why even have the VIP program? It's time to cut ties with the old system. At least that way we aren't told VIPs are special and then behind our backs you use the air quotes.

Come up with a VIP pack that takes $15 or $20 off of each of the options you have listed and it would go a long way to showing us that you actually want VIPs.

So to reiterate: yes as soon as you login on the 25th if you're a VIP you can create a Druid, even if you didn't purchase the expansion.
