help with interacting

I used to be able to pick up treasure bags and other usable items by pressing the "e" button even if they weren't directly on my target reticle, but just in the general area. But now I have to carefully target each item I want to pick up and then press "e", or else it won't work. It's as if the target area for an item shrunk way down. I tried resetting to the default UI setting, but that didn't put it back the way it was. I'm pretty sure it is some setting I changed on this one toon, because I have other toons that work the way it used too. Anyone have any idea what I can do to get it back the way it was?

Perhaps you turned off auto-targetting? That toggles with 'g'.
