Tried a TR...and lost everything!

Took my prized Elven AA Ranger and tried a TR, but when I went to the bank to get stuff from my inventory, all that was there was stuff from the bank. Anything in my inventory, like my epic items and my greensteel bow was gone!

EDIT: I do have reincarnation cache, but it only has stuff from the bank.

EDIT 2: After many of you confirmed the issue, I submitted a bug report.

It's fixed internally. You will be safe to TR when we allow it.
It was a halo effect of a much worse TR bug, if you must know.

i know my tr bank (where all your stuff you had on you and in your inventory goes) does not load the same speed at which the shared bank does. sometimes takes a few seconds to show up after you click on the banker.

edit: btw, is this on lammania? assume so, but curious

Yes, it is on lama. I tried removing items, relogging, everything. Nothing from my inventory made it. Luckily, I tried this in beta and not live, otherwise I would be freaking out right now.

Just out of curiosity:

Did you literally talk to TR-dude in house J, do the stuff, log off right in front of him, and hit the TR button?

Or did you do anything else?

doh, was actually going to TR my main on monday...with a bug like this hanging out there it seems like I should be waiting to see if it hits anyone on live.

For someone is so negative about Turbine, you have to be crazy to TR the day of an update...

I'm known far and wide as a Turbine fanboi, and even I would NEVER TR on an update day (or even the day after).

Let other fools find the bugs, dude...

I'm very careful about what I do before and on update day. I don't mess with the mail, and I try not to interact with the bank too much. I usually get on with one of my least favorite characters first too...

Most of the time actually I play something else that day, and check the forums to see if anything is broken.

Yeah, I don't log on to Oschkosch the day of an update for this reason.

He's my crafter - and multiple times on Lammania, they've "oops" on turning the crafting levels "up". So anyone who logged on before they increased the crafting levels would instead find their XP capped....at level 75. Even if they were much, much higher on Live. I'm always scared this issue is going to make it to live.

So yeah. Sadly, the best recourse is to wait and hope someone else finds the landmines before you do.

The fact that you even have to take those precautions is lame, is the entire point. What do we tell the first person who actually does TR and finds out theres a bug in the system. "You shouldnt have TRed so soon after an update, its your own fault? And btw, thanks for being the guinnea pig for us."

We should all just roll up a decoy toon to play until the update hiccups are gone from the system.

Here I sit, reading the forums as people complain about bugs...

This is why I wait to TR, eat my birthday cake, pre-order the expansion pack, etc.

Okay, so my question is this... If you know the inventory items will be deleted, WHY HAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR INVENTORY WHEN YOU TR? Duh! Put your inventory in your bank, then TR. Voila, no deleted items. Yeesh, you guys are all making this *thumbs to himself* blonde guy feel uber-smart. And no **** about no room in bank. Until this bug was found and replicated no one Knew. So if you TR'd on Live not knowing the Bug was present.. Tell me you would Bank every thing??? It was found here and was then tested by several people with the same result.

So you have 5+ pages of empty room in your bank?

Your bank is a lot bigger than everyone else's banks it seems.

Or - pay extra TP to buy more character slots to move around what you can, and then spend all that time moving it back and forth as you level?

Good solution - spend cash, and lots of extra time, to work around a bug - and still risk losing stuff anyway - because its a bug and would you really plan for a bug to work always the same way?
