Default PC vs NPC magic effects not equitable

dont play spell caster much and am hoping for some input from players who do. I have noticed with the wizard I have here that if I die all my spell effects on monsters/npcs/area instantly end while it does not work that way the other way around or that they are able to do things I can not. For example

if I cast flaming sphere and die it immediately goes away but anyone who has played the necro series knows that the casters in their who die have their flaming spheres continue on for the full amount of time chasing down hirlings

hold monster/person instantly ends if I die but theirs does not when they are killed off

blade barrier, flaming sphere, fire wall and a few other spells just instantly snuff out in water but the npcs do not.

I am sure there are other effects this happens with and I dunno if it happens on live since I dont do spell casters. It just seems to be something that might need some discussion and work.

yes it is the same on the live servers, they just recently implemented this effect within the last year. basically when NPCs or players die most lasting effects are removed. although i will say that NPC spells are removed on death as well. i dont play casters either but if you look this is very noticable from when they didnt at all

I know there have been quite a few times where I have been in chains from a hold and the monster is ded and I just have to wait for them to wear off. Same thing with sleep spells so I know there are some that dont which is my frustation - all mine do so all of theirs should as well.

persistent area effects disappear. that is, anything that is in the environment; blade barrier, dancing ball, wall of fire, ice storm, clouds, etc.

pretty sure the flame sphere counts as a summon, not as a persistent effect (though i could be wrong). never tested if it disappears when you die (because i've never bothered to cast it. it's not exactly an impressive spell), but if it does when NPC ones don't, that's bugged.

The important npc spells do go away; fogs, bb, fw, SLEET STORM!
Male Fairy: "Dont cry my dear. You know what I do when I'm sad?"
    Felicia Day Fairy: "Look douchy..."

It sure would be nice if there was some way to get rid of those darn flame spheres, they aren't really dangerous, just annoying...

I've heard rumors that dispel magic will instakill them, though I've never actually tried it to confirm. Worth a shot, even if it's just and urban legend.

    Uhm yeah...

Somebody actually takes that spell? Maybe if we had infinite SP like the mobs do...

It is kinda like how the 'illusions' in Partycrashers have a small 'bit' saying something about how 'dispel magic' does 'stuff' to them. Well I know Greater Dispel doesn't do squat! Maybe only Dispel it self works?
