Default Protection from Evil range complaint/whine

Just a complaint/whine...move on if you don't want to deal with it.

    /complaint/whine on
Ok, so I finally got around to running a caster who has this spell available, and the only complaint I have is it has such a short casting range. I know in the PnP books it's a "touch" range spell, but there are plenty of other spells that are "touch" in PnP that have a reasonable range in DDO. It seems silly to restrict this spell so that I have to be practically standing on top of the target to cast it.

I could do magic circle vs evil, but since I'm primarily duoing with a friend, that's a waste of a third level spell slot/point cost for duoing and really doesn't get me THAT much more range.

It would be nice if it had a similar casting range to spells like resist energy (which is also a "touch" range spell btw).

Agree. I didn't really notice it much on my divines or arcanes, but it REALLY noticed it on my Pali while leveling.

I agree, it's annoying if somebody joins late for mass buffs and you have to chase him down to get that one spell off.

He gets in range, i cast deathward, fom, resists (if needed), 'NOT FACING THE TARGET / OUT OF RANGE' - really?

Would be nice if it could be changed to fit all the other buffs.

I use magic circle against evil scrolls. They are cheap, last for 5 minutes, and can hit the whole party at once.

The single-target buff has the same range as the circle, I think.

if they're running away from your buffs, just let them go on without them. no sense trying to force them to take it.

Absolutely signed. I wouldn't be surprised if the Devs probably forgot about this little "Direct translation" slip up (I know I sure did!)

Actually the single-target buff range is shorter than the circle...I've tried both and I have to stand right next to someone to land the single version, vs ~10' or so to get the circle version to land (since the PnP circle is a 10' radius, that makes sense...)

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds it annoying.

I know, i wouldn't chase them just so they get any buffs they don't want/need.

But sometimes somebody arrives late to the party for whatever reason and i'd like to pass out the most basic stuff while he joins the fight.
Doesn't work well if i have to stand right infront of him.
