Default please find a way to store more wilderness maps per account.

I know this has been asked about before but hoping if it gets mentioned once in a while, it might catch someone's eye and get on the to do list.

I really like to run some of the wilderness areas, like the sands or giant hold. but it loses a lot of its appeal when you have spent hours clearing pretty much the entire map and come back to find it all hidden again. as I understand it, it's due to the servers storing only "x" number of maps for an account. so if you explore different wilderness areas with different characters, you start losing the saved maps for other characters.

I understand why you wouldn't want to save all maps visited forever but maybe put them on a timer instead of number of maps? if I visit the sands with the same character at least once a month or so, would it be possible to not lose all the progress made to uncover the map?

or maybe it's just me that finds this a bit frustrating would be interested in seeing other people's thoughts, suggestions about this

Most games call this fog of war. Also most game I have played once you clear a map it stays clear. For Explorer areas I would love it to stay gone for Dungeon areas I like it to come back as it helps me re-navigate the dungeon.
So Yes to keeping explorer areas Clear

I used to do this, until I linked it with the game crashing on me. So...yeah. No.

It's a little tricky if you haven't done it before.

Go to your MYDDO page and select 'my admin'.

You'll get to a new site where you have some tools on the left side of your screen, one of them is 'links'.

If you click on it, you can select 'new link', and add a link (e.g. www.ddowiki.com).

Save it, and go back to your original MYDDO page. You should now be able to follow that link under 'links' (button above your profile pic).

The link now works using the ingame-MYDDO window.

But, as the Leader already said, it may cause your client to freeze / crash if you visit other sites that way.

    This is a guide
I made a while back explaining how to add, and use, links in MyDDO. It comes with pictures and video and stuff.

Like I said though, I've found DDOWiki and MyDDO together ends up in the game having unexpected failures, so use at your own peril.

    This.

I used to use DDO wiki in game until a few updates ago (don't remember exactly which one) something changed and the game would crash shortly after using the wiki, I haven't tried in a while to see if it was ever fixed.

thats why i love having dual monitors, screw work productivity, i cant imagine how you poor solo monitor types play lol

of course it does mean i get relegated to look-up duty alot but i compensate for it by watching shows during raids after clicking auto-attack

I'd be happy if they just removed the "fog of war" once you find all the explorer points for a wilderness zone. Should be a simple enough change (no requirement for saving map info, just a simple check when zoning in, if all explorers done, show full map). They already do a similar check for low level navigators.

IIRC, I remember reading that they save the last few explorer maps you have visited.
I know that if I stick to the same area for a while, the map stays explored. Once I move on to other stuff and come back, the map may or may not be clear.

I suppose you could always hire a kobold guide, like KPS?

If you get the newer model, they fit in your backpack and have toggleable voice activations.

Yeah, in previous threads on the subject. One of the ideas I liked was that once you've done it once [explorer points] the 'fog of war' is removed totally. So there is no need for the game to track that information and thus eliminate the need for Turbine to worry about resources to record that information.

That'd be a hell of a lot more useful than the XP bonus it gives, heh..

Maybe (If turbine feels that's too much) Reveal map if S/R/E are all checked?

Frankly, I don't care how turbine does it, so long as they make it happen.

never tried this, but would think this works like alt tabbing to look up a map in Wiki. that's not the problem, I would like for a way to be found to not have the map go back to black (respects to AC/DC )

I generally know where the main missions, rares, etc are located in the zones I have visited dozens of times. but it's still easier to see the mission doors, landmarks, etc on the maps than having to clear it all over again.
