Hello, hope all is well. And if it isn't, sorry about that.

If this system is implemented, guild favor decay would have to be removed. This way a guild could recover easily if a member left that had contributed a large amount.

I don't watch sports and know very little about basket ball i know a lot more about football but I do know who Micheal jordan is and Shaq is that the team?? or is that the individual player? Point made.

Also i am hearing a lot of peopel worried about guildies blackmailign the guidl into giving them stuff GET real. First of all why would you invite someone like that into your guild. THE real problem is there aren't a lot of actual guilds out there People don't join to be apart of a team people join for ship buffs. Garantee they take away ship buffs or any benpofit to being in a guild only the peopel who actually group with each other will stay in the guilds. there are a couple of REALLY good players who feel the same way and is why they are guildless on my server we have one guy thats very close to completionist who doesn't even use ship buffs.

You either have a optimistic vision of people or have been very lucky in life. Personally, I've had guildies who I knew by real name, family, interests, ones I thought were really tight, only to have them leave for no reason. Simple fact of MMOs, you don't really know who's on the other side of that chat window/voice stream.

    Not signed.

Guilds should be a co-operative effort, not a one-man show.
    ^This

Such a system would create yet another social class of player. A class which frankly does not need to exist.

New idea: add a minor (VERY minor - like 20%, max) bonus to guild renown collected based on a character's Favor.

I think you are agree with me, but if not, I'll explain for any lurkers.

The point is that individual greatness doesn't transfer over to team greatness, even if the team is made up of everyone being great at their spot.

There is a quality inherent in a team that transcends the individual's quality. How many times have you been in a group where everyone has a character that is great at what they are specced to do, but at the same time simply can't seem to work together.

The Rogue rushes ahead, gains too much aggro. The tank and healer, after this happens, refuse to help him any more. Sure, the tank CAN pull the aggro off of him, and the Healer CAN heal him back up, but they are tired of it. When the rogue dies, the mob then turns on the rest of the group, and now that the DPS of the rogue is gone, the rest of the party has too high an attrition rate to win the battle and dies.

It doesn't matter at this point that the rogue is great at DPS, the healer is great at healing, and the tank is great at tanking. The fact that they refused to work well together caused the team to suck.

Guild renown, at least conceptually, is supposed to represent that same function. The problem is that the renown system actually works based on individual accomplishments, not guild accomplishments. So, I can see where what you say makes sense from a practical standpoint.

However, given what its supposed to represent, I can't support guild renown going with individual players.
