    Default Player renown

What about a system where A player makes him own renown and keeps it wherever she/he goes? I earn 5,800,000 and I leave a guild I take that renown with me and join a new guild and that guild gets my renown as long as I stay. Keep the guild decay syatem If i join a guild with a lot of members and its high level My renown decays faster than if I was in a smaller guild.

Next time you run shroud go back and look in chests when people leave I am seeing a ton of guild renown left in chests from all different guilds. I don't know or understand why people are not grabing renown for their guilds but ya... this would fix that problem if you know that you are only hurting yourself people will grab the renown.

    I agree.

It always annoyed the ever loving BLANK out of me, that you, as an individual character gain renown..

and because your move to a different banner, it all just goes away. Nonsense, Pure and utter Nonsense.

    So my own renowned decays?

    /not signed

I play alot of alts and sometimes I dont play one for a week or two, so then I get screwed out of my renown because Im playing another toon? Seems stupid.

Renown = how well known you are according to DDO if you read their thread. Well how well the guild is known for YOUR actions. Do Football players Loose Fame when they change teams? I think that Ones fame is ones to keep. I understand if other people feel differently especailly if those people earn little to no renown or are afraid their guild mates might leave and take it with them.

I am a guild leader so this Idea could only hurt me but.. I think it is the right choice.

This was discussed a long time ago when guild renown was introduced:
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=259127

I really would like this to happen but don't think it will.

Also hope to see renown for each member disclosed, and some kind of reward/ranking available (augment lasting longer for players with higher renown, for example).

Turbine will benefit as well, since this will actually make renown boost actually worthwhile.

Tie it to forum renown. Oh wait, I'm screwed.

I like the basic idea though - even if it does need polish to satisfy altoholic habits.

With regards to leaving guild renown in chests, I'd love to see it fixed so the renown is lootable and instantly processed, even if my inventory is full.

The renown object behaviour is a bit weird - had a shroud run where we all got booted from the raid when the instance crashed during part 3, and received a couple of renown rewards in the mail presumably from some recovery mechanism. However, after detaching the renown items they transferred to our inventories and just sat there taking space. Couldn't double-click on 'em or anything to use 'em, so they were dropped / deleted without being applied to our respective guilds. Major issue? No. Annoying? Yep, 'cos that's buggy behaviour.
    Goe ahed... korekt mah spelin'.

I like the idea of tying renown to the player but I wish we could cut out the fat and tie the renown to the person in front of the computer, I have 0 mains 35 alts and 5 mules. I would hate to think of the decay rate.

    What he said.

Question though Mr Cheese: What if the guild is only 1 person and their alts?
Hello, hope all is well. And if it isn't, sorry about that.

So perhaps a Split between guild and player is the way to go..

Presently leaving on "bad terms" destroys what.. 25% and on good terms 10%?

Mayhap something like "I take and keep 50% leaving on agreeable terms, and 75% if I hate 'em, or get kicked?" The guild retains half, or 25% of the renown, depending on the players, but the significant change is your renown isn't just flat out destroyed.

    Or 25 / 50% or 25 / 75% or what have you.

And honestly, Renown decay as it stands right now is calculated by ACCOUNT, not character, so mayhap that's the way to do it?

    Fallacy of composition.

A basketball team made up of every great player might not be the best basketball team ever. They might not work well together, they might be primadonna's, etc.

    Question

What about the character ranking ? mIsn't this kind of the same ?

And - what's this character ranking about, anyway ? No, I'm not speaking of favour. Or is it the same ?

I'm speaking of that bar in MyDDO that is under the bar displaying both level & experience points.
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

Hehe, well I suffer from typo-itis, it's incredibly hard for me to type a single sentence without making one when I'm playing. And I constantly correct myself but still end up making a typo in the correction. Really annoys me tbh, I'm a bit of a perfectionist I think.

Sorry for the off topic, back to the point, I understand the altoholism and 1 man show, I am my own grandpa.
Hello, hope all is well. And if it isn't, sorry about that.

There are 5 ranks to each level, new levels start on the 1s and 6s. The first 4 ranks of each level grant an AP to spend on enhancements.

    /no no no no no

Here's what your idea is in a nutshell. I have a buddy in my guild, during the entire time he's in my guild we are one account higher. That means we all have to earn a bit more for him being in the guild. He leaves. Now we have suffered the hit from him being here and now lose all the renown he gained for us?!?
