    Default Law of unintended consequences

For any willed actions there are consequences which occur which were not intended. For instance say a bound +2 Con tome drops from DQ2. But wait, already used a Con tome on this toon. U13 makes tomes persist through TR (supposedly). I can't believe I am actually thinking that it would be nice for tomes not to persist through TR. It's that or I have to sell a darn +2 tome to the vendor. Didn't see that one coming. (Insert long string of expletives here.)

I would personally prefer if the only retained tomes were +3 and +4, but I guess this means I'll just have more tomes to use on all my other characters instead of reserving for TRs.

You could also grind it up for purified eberron dragonshards as crafting ingredients. Though I can't do that with my banked +3 BtC con tome.

This. Or better yet, put it up for /roll. Usually someone in the raid will not have used it, especially in an easier raid like non-epic DQ2.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

I would have done that if anyone else had been in the raid with me. Guess I am waiting for U13 to find out if tomes actually carry over or not and then grinding it up. Oh well.

    1. TR now before U13 and eat it at lvl 7.
    2. Deconstruct it via turn in for crafting components (purified dragonshards I don't know if they BTC or BTA or bind at all when you do this.)
    3. Sell it to vender.

I'm assuming the tome is BtC.

You're right not to believe it because it's a pretty **** crazy notion to hold. Regardless of whether you vendor it or trade it in for dragonshards, you still end up ahead.

Having to sell a tome is fairly meaningless as far as unintended consequences we have often had good loot pulls turned to worthless through updates and what not.

If you wanted to pick out a bad unintended consequence it would possibly be that fewer vets will run raids they only ran for +3 tome possibilities. This means less vets in reavers, vods, hounds, and even shrouds. The new expansion is bound to get some new players to the game and we still have new people joining all the time. With less people to help lead these raids it would be harmful for them.

Now with all that said I still think the retained tomes is the best thing to come along in a long time. It was extremely sad that someone would loot a +4 tome, one of the penultimate items in the game and then have to put it in the bank because they weren't done with their tr's.
