    Default Epic Midnight Greetings

Does anyone of the Rogue players have an estimate on how reliable the "Improved Deception" property is to ensure SA damage?

In particular: Can an EMG be a substitute for a Rad2 Rapier/Scimi/Kuri?

Strictly anecdotal, but I don't "feel" like it happens often enough.

And even if it did, the blindless allows for a dramatically reduced mob AC (which is nice when paired with SA to-hit), and 50% miss chance.

Although perhaps the U13 Necklace, and the fact that it bestows Improved Deception, may be enough.

Note: it's been a while since i use mine and memories fade, im in the middle of taking a break from being in the middle of a TR.

that said, when my rogue used one in each hand, it did proc quite frequently. with haste i'd probably guess i saw a proc in under 5 seconds of swinging on something i had aggro on. likely 4-7 or so swings. i think when the change 1st came out people were saying it had about a 10% proc rate, though i don't have a link or anything to prove that.

as to the rad II question, i would say it is not a replacement compared to a rad II rapier, as that has a quite high crit range, and therefore a quite high proc rate (obviously). i would probably place it near the proc rate of a weapon with the crit range of a khopesh. i say that mainly because i've got a khopesh rogue, and felt like it was about the same amount of time till i didn't have to worry about me having aggro.

Iirc, someone posted that imp deception had a save. If that's true, emg can't compare to radII.

Deception works on named mobs who can't be blinded

Overall... Blindess trumps Deception. If only because Blindness causes nicities for you and the group. Removes Dex based AC , 50% miss chance. Only time Blindness loses is basicaly vs blind immuned mobs which tend to have 'tanks' or not able to be sneak attacked anyways.
