Is the bloodstone worth it ?

Hey there, Axemen !

Skar is wielding Tier3 Fireaxe from Cannith challenges and has set gauntlets of chronoscope. Both have nice boni on critical hits.
Additionally he has no trinket at the moment.

Should Skar farm for Bloodstone ? Will it provide better crit chance ?

I don't think it'll make you crit any more of less. Your to-hit is probably fine.

Will it make you do more damage every crit? Oh yeah. That's what, x5 if I remember right? So, an extra 30 damage every 19-20 crit?

depends on what other gear you have, IMO bloodstone isn't worth the gear slot unless you absolutely can't find space from seeker somewhere else

fully upgraded stalker ring give 6 seeker and lots of other goodies which probably makes it best in slot for hitters
cove hat can have 6 seeker on a very sparse slot for melee
malarith chain has 6 seeker on your body slot (I would wear frozen tunic for trash, switch to malarith chain for bosses)

as for the trinket slot the cove trinket is more damage for a barb, more if you don't always have ship buffs

also I haven't tested it but supposedly the shocking blow on cove trinket stacks with greater shocking blow from epic charged gauntlets

epic bloodstone just barely edges out cove trinket for a barb because of x5 crits but not anyone else

if you don't have cove trinket or another source of seeker then bloodstone is probably best in slot

If you really want one, personally I suggest farming Devils Assault on leet or epic for LDS (large devil scales), then trade 1 or 2 for the bloodstone. Will save you time and you'll get some other mats on the way.

Farming the bloodstone is a PITA and really isn't worth it in the long run. IMHO It took me months and probably a thousand or so runs to get my first bloodstone.

You can get the Lenses of Opportunity from Acute Delirium much, much easier and quicker. they are +4 instead of +6 though. But you choice depends on your gear layout.

The Blood Stone is one of those items that for years was the only source of its particular bonus (+6 seeker not on a weapon). But in the last year or so, several other sources have come into existance. As a result, it has gone from "best in slot" to merely nice to have.

I wouldn't expect to find one easily by farming. It has an insanely low drop rate.

Some folks get lucky with bloodstones. Some do not. One of my guildies pulls them like mad. I have only ever pulled one in 3 years.

It is worth it. adds a bunch of damage to crits. And there is really not much competing with a trinket slot for pure melee aside from maybe litany of the dead trinket. Blasting chime is great for constructs but not really good to have on all the time do to the low proc rate of the cacophonic sonic blast. .

For its level the bloodstone is the best **** trinket in game for a melee. level 9 seeker 6 is amazing... Especially a THF one who cannot sacrifice the dps of using a wep with seeker.

I would say go for it. and if you do not have luck then maybe someone who does will sell you one.. You can instance swap by going into wiz king and summning a hire, then recalling to speed up the farming process...

Bold trinket:+1 damage, +2 seeker=~1.8 damage/swing if x3 crits. ~2.5 damage/swing if x6 crits. PLUS can get seeker on another place and they STACK. Also the bloodstone is a huge PITA to farm for and the bold trinket is essentially free when cove is out.

Bloodstone adds a bit of damage to crits, but has no effect on bursting procs and crit chances. It's still good but no longer amazing IMO.

A guildie asked me to help him farm the bloddstone about a year ago (I am now a solo guild). he told me he was trying for a couple weeks. It dropped for me on the first run. I like it on my Arty and crits can happen with each 3 bolt voley always nice when 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 crit for 100+ damage. Epic version gives an additonal +2 but that can better be gotten by exceptional seeker from elsewhere. I think i have that as well but not logged in at the mo.

However, as others have stated there are more options now for +6 seeker and it depends on how you are dedicating all of your slots. Personally I don't like the slot swap so I keep that to a minimum.

Despite other sources being available they are still fairly popular. I use them during TRs since the minimum level on them is pretty low compared to other sources and just sell the rest.

OP said he had Echarged gauntlets, and I am unsure if they stack so didn't want to include that. They don't stack with ML gauntlet procs but the epic ones DO have a different effect.

With the shocking blow thingy (assuming they save and don't have evasion and have zero elec resist it's about ~1.5 damage/swing) bloodstone and bold trinket are about equal even on high crit weps. On handwraps and such bold is considerably ahead.

I like having bloodstone on my khopesh user, and if I had an ESoS user the 15-20/x3 crit range makes bloodstone worth 5.4 damage/swing, more if FB barb. More than Eclaw set, more than bold trinket, more than going from a +6 str item to a +7 str item, etc etc.

For monks (generally 20/x2 crit range) bloodstone is next to worthless-it's less than .3 damage per attack.

Theres also the mari chain and maybe even the epic version but good luck on the seals/shards for that.

Neither for epic Devil's assault: Not reasonable on Wayfinder - but one of the scales dropped in an elite run, where I was invited at lv 5 to loot - got me 1000 PL in auction \o/

Well,if you ask me the pirat trinket with the charge on crits<Like chorono gloves> is FAR more handy.
Around 60-70 more per crit,More benefitical traits then just that semi Seeker-that-dont-depend-on-your-multypular-+-20<Or far more if you have a *2 crit>,and is light years easyer to get.
Just farm a bit doubloons,Get 5-6 of those,Put em' in bank,And you got an epic epic bloodstone for all your toons,In less then a hour.
