    Default 32 Point h-elf monk/rogue build Help!!!!

I want to do something similar to the Whirling Steel Darkmonk Rogue build (7 Monk, 12 Rogue, 1 Fighter)

As im going with Half-Elf the lvl 1 of Fighter wont be required as i can just Fighter Dillant.

I will Drop the whirling steel idea for just picking up short swords as a replacement with Weapon Finesse, this gives me more situational weapon options between wraps and shorts word sets .

Im not very new to D&D, or to 3.5, but i am pretty new to DDO so im looking for help in Feat picking and stats, as well as how to maximize certain skills in the build. I currently have a lvl 8 H-Elf monk im thinking on eating a reincarnate latter, just need some ideas first as i dont want to make more mistakes :<.

Features im Looking for are: Weapon Finesse, Dark Monk/Ninja, Assassin 2, Optimized Hide/Stealth, spot, search, disable devices and UMD.

Im sure i will need spot/search/disable/UMD soon after lvl 8 or so if im going to solo with hires, but the UMD isnt that important i suppose until after 12 or so.

For My Initial 32 points i was thinking...

    Str:14 (13 for Fighter Dillant + 1 left over)
Dex:16 (As im H-Elf and going Rogue ill be able to get more later in Enhance)
    Con:14
Int:12 (Does it need to be this high? im trying to jam ALOT of skills into 12 or 13 rogue lvls....)
    Wis:14
    Cha:8

The 12 INT as Monk allows
Balance (im assuming ill want this if i plan to solo often)
Concentration (is this uber effective at all? ive been dumping points into it as Monk, just didnt know how good it is overall)
    Hide
    Move Silent
    Spot

This will make it easier on Rogue as i can take hide/ms/spot in monk lvls, should i be focusing on tumble? Seems important, also the lack of Jump catches my eye.

Some build suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I suppose i Could just go 6 monk, 12 rogue, 2 fighter, to free up the dillant feat, i like picking barb for obvious reasons

Skills. DO put points into these.
If u want to do traps for sure put points (max it out) in Spot, Search, Disable Device. Also Open Lock if u wan, but casters can open lock just fine. But u should be able to max it all out.

    Assassin is cool, but...
Assassinate DC DC 10 + Rogue Level + Int Modifier. With 12 rogue lvls and even 30 ending int it would be difficult for u to get usable DC.

Assuming ure taking assassin for more SA dmg then. 2d6 sneak attack is great.
But Id think of going Thief-Acrobat.
    http://ddowiki.com/page/Thief-Acrobat_enhancements
When as assassin u get 2d6 sneak attack dmg, and some + to hide and move silently.
As thief Acrobat u would get complete immunity to knockdown effects and slippery surfaces and also 10% movement speed. So u could just dump balance skill and u would be practically unknockable. And being knocked down is one of the most irritating things

    About rogue skills...
u can get maxing it out 23 ranks.
    +4 from Greater Heroism
+2 if u slot good luck in epic slot
+ stat mod (stat on what skill depends-10/2)
    + item
+7 from +5 tools to Disable Device and Open Lock
    +ew. skills boost

And to be honest to do good epic traps u would need at least 55+ most of skills. maybe spot around 52. But reccomended search, DD and Open Lock for Epics are 64+.
So ull need +20 items also. (epic Utility Vest and Epic SpyGlass do fine. And arent that hard to farm out, cause mostly no-one besides rogues wants it).

Tumble is most unneeded skill in DDO. besides putting in it 1 rank(full 1 rank). But looks cool xD.

6 monk, 12 rogue, 2 fighter is not a bad idea.
    U could also go 13 rogue/6 monk/1 whatever or 13 rogue/7 monk
to get additional SA from rogue lvl, and be able to pick second rogue class feat besides improves evasion. Maybe Crippling Strike or Opportunist.

To top of this all... i see almost no benefit from taking Whirling Steel Strike, as longswords are not that great weapons, and t1 - t2 monk stance wont do better dps than taking 2x khopeshes or probably also not better dps than just going with wraps

to sum it UP THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS that longswords are not finessable.
    Check it here:
    http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Feat:Weapon_Finesse

U probably wont be able to do any instant kills with Touch of Death of monk... especially monk can get it on 9 lvl.
And wont be able to assasinate things.

And to be honest, i really rare use hide/move silently. Yes, u can use it, and stealth through all quest, but its mostly just easier and fasterto go with full group and kill things,

    Id think of other build.

If u want to do traps and be a good dps go 13 rogue(thier acrobat) and 6 fighter/1 what do u like or just 13 rogue/7fighter.
Just remember to take rogue as a first one, and rogue as a 4-5 last ones, to be able to pump up skills that u couldnt when u went fighter lvl.
Eventually if u really want skills points go this 13rogue/7monk or 13rogue/6ranger/1fighter

WQow. What a messy wall of text i created,

Weapons are a terrible choice for a rogue unless you are pure.

I very specifically said: Short Sword (as ninja can ki with them, and weapon finesse), which means i wont use whirling steel.

Shortswords are a terrible choice for a non-pure rogue.

Well sory about longswords thing. Had to miss it.

Idea is not terrible. But just going str build + khopeshes or wraps will work a lot better than shortsword dex build,

But do what u like. What can i say... I play elf fvs, just because its pretty. Even tho human would be a lot better. *a little ashamed*.

how about healing? 12 levels of cleric or fvs
how about hybrid? 12 levels of ranger 6-8 levels of monk(light but no shintao).

if you were to choose shortswords, become drow.
but otherwise, stick with regular elf for aelnar bonuses. its like a +2 enhancement to your weapons.
the most successful builds have class, race, and feat working together with each other.

concentration for skills is only good for monks that use their combos and such. touch of death, and light finishers.
A rogue is basically, "Look at me or die."
