    Oh snap with the toon

After writing in the thread I went and made a ranger/Rogue/x
And he's 6 ranger 3 rogue and a banked lvl ATM
Styled him on rid**** from the pitch black movie.

He's got a pair of crafted kurki's and a bald head
I've been getting elite traps and have kept dd max'd
    During the ranger lvl's

For the comments about ranger pasts, just do one or two
Then play an arty, funny as!

The future is to go all rogue now, but waying up the gtwf
feat and what it's worth. Twf is a bit painful now.
ATM I use the offhand as a buff hand for a seeker/sneak attack buff.

    Cheers

I don't think the tempest is still worth the effort. Is 10% more offhand procs worth 3 feats? You could work stunning blow, sap, hamstring or other utility feats in instead.

Oh, and if you are not taking tempest II, it might be worth it to drop a level of ranger and take one more of fighter. I dont know, I didn't run the numbers.
The following is wrong - see karl_k0ch's post:

Lose one level of ranger and you spend at least 4 build points (with +2 dex tome) to get GTWF. You also lose IPS, which is bad because the number of manyshot arrows is determined by BAB, not ranger level. Ranger 12 is the new ranger 6, and it has little to do with enhancements.

(why can't be have strikethrough for cases like this? [S][/S][STRIKE][/STRIKE][DEL][/DEL] don't seem to work).

GTWF, IPS and PS come at Ranger 11, not 12. The 12th level of ranger is only relevant if you are planning to take Tempest II.
This is what Kmnh is talking about.

Ouch. Looks like I don't know ranger as well as I thought. Somehow I doubt a 3rd level spell slot, an increase in will saves (the bad one for rangers), and 15 SP is worth much at all.

I would Splash monk instead of fighter but fighter can work.

If you did through the exploiter thread http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=168687 I'm sure you can find a lot of talk about this kind of build.
Tempest is no longer super dps due to the Tempest alacrity nerf. Exploiter is a has-been, DPS wise.

I'd roll with fighter 12 for all the feats and dps you'll get. IMO ranger is useful for 3 lives before you make your artificer for the +6 ranged damage you'll get. Or, it's useful for a high ac tank that can't hold aggro without a full kit of hate gear. That's about _it_. I hate to say this because I love the class but the class has been gutted dps wise in the video game version of D&D. Yes I'm a little bitter

That being said, Assassin III will still be more dps so splashing 12 levels of something else is counterproductive.

Makes me sad... I have 2 ranger characters. I get a lot of kills on my tempest 18/1/1 because I'm swinging Lit II's and built for strength. I can self buff, have max trap skills, and have great gear, but on a non-ranger twf build I'd do a LOT more damage. They nerfed tempest a few weeks after I capped him, and I'm sentimental...

My AA has less gear than my tempest so I'm reincarnating him one more time after this life (on 2nd life now) and going artificer.

Just sayin'. DDO made this class (and most ranger builds) stink. Rangers are second class citizens in ddo but good to have in raids to barkskin +5 the tank. At this point I'd play an AA before I'd consider Tempest. The DPS allure simply isn't there. I never thought I'd say that...
