Default AC Issue in "Lords of Dust"

My character ran Lords of Dust on Normal Solo, my standing AC (unbuffed) is 53.

With a 53 AC I appeared to get hit on grazing attacks. Deciding to see what was the too hit modifier of the Cultists and Dogs I lowered my AC by 3 (removed Chattering Ring) to go to 50 and was hit a good 40 to 50% of the time and took a fair amount of damage.

Is this working as intended as by my math should have only resulted in at most 15% increase in the number of hits but I seemed to get 30 to 45% more hits.

    Is this WAI?

    it doesn't work how you're thinking . . .

Say you get hit on a 19 . . . so you get hit 10% of the time. If you take off a chattering ring and start getting hit on a 16 you getting hit didn't go up by 15% . . . it more than doubled.

My ranger's on the cusp of good AC for stuff like Elite Amrath and it's amazing the difference and extra point or two makes.

Maybe I need to be a bit clearer.

I stand in front of mobs count the number of attacks (damage or misses) until I see 100 go by, at the same time I am noting how many are hits. In my case at 53AC I saw consistently 5 to 7 hits in the multiple times I did the test. Generally speaking 5 hits out of 100 is only being hit on a natural 20 dice roll. (However mob attacks have a different rolling mechanic if I remember correctly).

When I lowered my AC to 50 I was getting hit 37% to 52% of the time using the same test. It’s a little harder test as I am chugging store pots to keep up with the damage and I may miss a miss.

One would expect that lowering my AC by 1 point should result in only 5% more hits in the test I was running (while it does double the number of times I am hit) it also changes the damage because grazing hits could now be regular hits. So 3 points should result in 20% hits (1 in 5) not the 40 to 50% I was seeing.

I have seen this issue in a number of quests, your Bark Pot wears off or some other minor change to your AC occurs and you go from getting hit once in blue moon to hit every other swing.

In Lords of Dust I found my 48 AC works wonders, 1 hit about every 11 or 12 swings, but if I take of my chattering ring I am hit 1 in every 2 or 3 swings. Yet if I walk in with out the chattering ring on, 45 AC, the number of hits is about 1 hit in 9 or 10 swings. To me it is like the scaling isn't working properly.
