I don't think I need to say anymore on the benefits this simple addition would have to game play.

I use it in other games and I'm very happy with it. It could be nice to have here also

There is nothing like coming back from an AFK or quest and see a /tell or message in Guild/trade channel and not know if it was posted 1 second ago or 30 minutes ago.
Amen. I actually spent probably 20 minutes the first week I played LOOKING for the timestamp option, as well as where my chat/combat/ect log would dump to on the local end, to see if it was stamped there.
Never found either.
a time stamp would be a nice OPTION to add. I wouldn't make it mandatory though.
sometimes my chat windows scroll by quick enough without adding more length to each line.

Personally, I AFK due to my kids and other RL things. Knowing when something was typed would be great.
