Default When are the druids joining us?

Been strolling through the forum and ive had no luck finding any recent Druid discussion.
What im interested the most in is any recent announcements bout them, mainly shapeshifting oriented.
Also any date they were promised to arrive (like in the next update, or the one after that?) would be nice to get links to that.

As for the class, i figure theres some hate against them and i fear thats in part why they are getting postponed (that and shapeshifting ofc, just my opinion though). Imo i think path based builds is the way to go.
For instance my ONLY wish is to be able to go Earth Elly form, summon a earth elly via summon monster 5(?) and use the greensteel item to summon another one and have a earthgrabing party ^_^.

I can see how this may come off as some sort of a troll/flame thread. But i assure u im just here for the info and opinions on the matter.
    And please stay on topic.
As for the emos comment, i didnt understand a word of that... Except a obvious attempt at trolling.

There was a time that you could use both charges of your greensteel item to summon two elementals. But turbine put a stop to that after parties were walking around with twelve earth elementals in quests.

In Dungeons & Dragons, Druids are a Divine spellcasting class that can shapeshift into a number of natural animals. Lions, tigers and bears, etc.

They're more "Dungeons & Dragons" than Artificers are, as they're a core Class, and not Eberron-specific.

From what I gather, they've not been implemented in DDO because the designers... um, actually the only logical explanation is that they're just not good enough as games design to know how to do it properly. Turbine need some new staff. Perhaps they could "promote" some of the guys from LOTRO, a game with both ranged combat and pets.

Druids are being worked on. The devs have said this. They gave us arty 1st because it was done. Druid is still being worked on. =P Personally I'd like to see druid done well the first time, and have a longer wait.

Im all for waiting so we dont get a bad product in the end, but goddamn im not a DDO player from the start but seeing how many years pass and nothing? Thats a real shame since im sure theres an abundace of fans out there (myself included, due to shifting, if they gave us a shifter as a class like in NwN id be fine with that too) that would want them asap, even if they are UP at the start. They would fix them in time but not have to listen to people wanting them relased.
That being said, are there any hints as to what will be relased in Update 12? Besides the free Arty class for VIPs?

I think the only good Duids will bring to DDO at this point is another healing-capable class.

Don't get me wrong. I'd like to play a Druid! Really bad. I didn't buy Arti and I think I will never do, but I'd buy Druid for double the price on the spot!

Might say we should expect it soon, since only wild shape is needed to make them work.
    - Arti implemented companions
    - Gear restriction to keep "centered" isn't really hard to implement for non-metals.
    - Spells...
    - I think they will be a little overpowered if you can splash monk (Lawful Neutral is possible).

Hope to see some Dev words about it again... It's like they are either holding something or just closing the eyes to pretend it doesn't exist.
    I don't care...

    ^This
For the most wanted implementation (correct me if theres something the community wants more, excluding bugfixes cuz they can come along with Druid) to the game they sure a keeping it quiet...
Some reveals or even details bout how the progress is would be more than welcomed.
As for them being OP id gladly they chop the Druid into a few restricting prestiges and in that way avoid the OP aspect.
U wanna go shapeshifter? Fine, your spells dont have nearly the impact of a Druid that went for nuking or healing etc, think u get the picture.

All of the information that has ever been posted about druids and this game that would be relevant to the OP...

half orcs are the gatekeepers, aka druids, in Ebboron.

Per Turbine current engine limitations make druid shapeshifting not feesable. (opinion: Which implied they want druids to be able to shape shift.)

If Turbine really wanted to save their jobs, the answer would be 12-20-11.

Being able to keep the majority of VIP players from defecting to SWTOR would be a HUGE deal to this game, and druids, if done well, without bugs, and maybe with a high level quest pack to go with them, and either gnomes or shifters as a new race for them too, well, that would keep us.

As it is I doubt we'll get any of those things, maybe ever, unless SWTOR just epic fails. Which I've heard it might from some testers and some blogs...

Everyone I've talked to says it plays pretty much exactly like WoW. So any 'mass exodus' will be from fans of that type of gameplay.

I got seriously bored with WoW, but ddo have kept my interest for about 18 months longer than I expected already so I'm not going anywhere

Also, if I ever lose interest in playing my wizard, druids better be out by then and shapeshifting/natural casting with them!

Pale Master forms were a first step towards shapeshifting for Druids.

Honestly, if I were to make a guess based on building the code infrastructure to support Druids, I'd expect to see the Shifter or Changeling race(s) go live in Update 13, then Druids in Update 15.

That means, I'll look for them around Christmas 2012. And given the lagfest they will generate, I expect they'll be realistically playable after patch 15.3, sometime in March 2013.

My main question is: do Grizzly Bear Monks make handwraps bug out?

Give a man a fish, and he demands two more tomorrow.
Teach a man to fish, and he'll leave to find somebody who'll just give him a fish.
Beat him unconscious with the fish, and it's comedy.

I wouldnt call the Pale Master forms anything anywhere near what Druid shapeshifting had BETTER be. Pale Master forms are completely indistiguishable concept-wise from what Stalwart Defenders and Defender of Siberys get. It's just another stance that gives you a buff and adds some minor sprite effects. If that is how they make Druid Shifting work, somebody needs to seriously slap Turbine in the face super hard.

They can't even get handwraps to work completely on Monks... That should answer that question...

How about instead of making more classes, improve the current classes? More prestiege enhancements, etc....
I rather have that than another class.

We were told druids were coming before PrE's ever existed. How about completing the classes were were expecting 6 years ago in beta before the game was ever released before adding more PrE's? Just a thought from someone who does want druids.

I'm not concerned about any other classes after that.
