Stacking?

I recently rejoined the world of Eberron after 6 years away, I was one of them founders or whatsitcalled.
Ive been hearing conflicting things about stacking stat boosts, can you stack ability boosts such as str or dex etc on different items? Say I have a ring with +1 str and gloves of +1 str, will that give me a total of +2 str or will they just overwrite eachother for a total of +1?

Does enhancements stack? Like halfling hide and ranger/rogue hide?

Bonuses of the same type do not stack. A +3 STR ring will not stack with a +4 STR ring. I believe typically those haqve enhancement type as the bonus.

A EXCEPTIONAL or PROFANE bonus will stack though, but you'll only see that on high level stuff.
