    Default advice for 17monk/2paladin/1rogue

Hi all. I'm mostly a noob about multiclassing. I've been playing pure classes and would like to step into multiclass.

It looks to me at a glance that a 17/2/1 Monk/paladin/rogue could work out.
Am I out of my mind or do you think it could be done? The rogue is in there to be able to use UMD and disable.
    Advice is greatly appreciated.

The only problem I can see with this build is that you would need all the ablities to create this character. How many build points do you have? What race where you thinking about? If your taking 2 lvl's of pally for saves, I personally wouldnt cause monks have great saves already. However, You may be taking the pally levels to use wands to self heal. What do you want this character to do?

I'm also a noob about asking for advice.
I'm thinking human though I left that out because I'm wide open.
This will be my first 36 point build.
The paladin levels were for the save bonuses. I intended UMD to cover wand usage.
The plan is for him to be fun so I'm not looking for cutting edge. He'll be a brawler that won't be humbled by caster CC.
The only purpose to the rouge level and it's a BIG one is the pursuit of solid UMD. Since there will be a rouge level I intend him to be able to find and disable traps.
Thanks for pointing out my holes thus far.
    "edit"
I'm vague about enhancements and method because I want advice without preconceptions concerning what I specificaly want. I just want to see if as a community something can be made to gel out of this concept.

I did envision the paly providing +3/4 saves from aura and what ever charisma from tomes/items. An emergency LOH and a +1 to ac. If not perfectly balancing what I lose from the 2 monk levels at least filling the void some and adding fun flavor. Figured it was ok since I was loosing the monk cap anyway for the rogue level.
Weapon choice is up in the air also. In my head is a hands/staff build but I could also see it going whirling steel blades.

Also if this has been done before here in the forums please direct me. I spent some time searching and found nothing similar but this is a big place.

You almost surely arent getting enough disable to be worth anything. And 2 monk isnt all that great.

If you are going 17 monk you are probably best off going 20 monk.
Wherever you went - here you are.

    Something like this.

A pure half-elf monk with cleric dilettante can get 95% success rate on heal scrolls.

Alternatively, I'd look at Half-elf 12 monk (ninja-spy II)/6 fighter (stalwart defender I)/2 artificer (paladin dilettante) as a tank build that can self heal and possibly do traps. 6 fighter gives needed feats so gives it the edge over 6 paladin, imo.

Will have no issue, even with epic traps with a 1 splash Rogue on a human with 12 Int, and +2 Int tome at some point.
Monks get 4 skill points/level +1 human +1 int bonus covers balance/concentration/Search/Disable to cap.
Geared can easily hit +60 search and +67 disable.

    Disable_ Search
    23 _____ 23 _____ Ranks(Rogue at level 1-rest monk or other=4 class/19cross-class)
    2 _____ 2 _____ Int 14
    3 _____ 3 _____ Stat6
    15_____ 15 _____ Item+15
    6 _____ 6 _____ GS (+6 int skills)
    2 _____ 2 _____ +2 Luck
    4 _____ 4 _____ GH
    7 _____ 0 _____ Tools
    5 _____ 5 _____ Human Skill Boost
    67 _____ 60

Thats without Exceptional Int+2(or +3 w/+3 tome/litany for even more), Epic items(5), Recitation(2), Light Monk Fire buff(2), other stacking enhancement gear like Ventilated Bracers for 3more disable /Cannith gear for 5more.
