Default Divine- ur screenshot of your UI hotkeys and shortcuts

Lets compare for ideas. DDO lite UI with shortcut bars shown to identify. ctrl then = to lock icons
    Res 1368x768. Please give resolution.

Lots of hotkeys. Bar 1 in the upper left highlighted has keyboard keys 1-0 assigned to just that bar 1 specifically. Not for the other bars.

Bar 10 has numpad assignments. The numpad corresponds to the numpad on my naga mouse.
Bar 9 has numpad - and + for button 11 and 12 on naga mouse.

Other keys have alpha assignments u can see on them. Any default assignment reassigned is unchanged except for 'ctrl' added to it. Ie. 'L' is 'ctrl+L'. I,O,M are used alot and unchanged.

"R' is to select self for a quick burst heal.

'Q' is Fighter haste or haste item
    'E' is Divine Power item
Other items on bar 2 are DM2, rage and back up items for divine power and haste if I use up the clicks in middle of combat.
Most of the damage spells are with all metas. Crowd control is with just heighten for long range attack.
And typical gear Ardor, Brilliance, everbright, metalline, jump, feather, rmv disease, removes etc. etc.

Is this one of those, "If you show me yours, I will show you mine" kind of games?

My naga is awesome. Worth it for an old man like me to keep up with the teens on here. It is even small enough like an average mouse for my son to use. Great design.

The standard numpad assignments are for the naga, so the numpad on this keyboard has 3 game sets to assign macros to numpad making the numpad useful. Also 6 more macro keys on the main board left with shift for 12 more macros. Great for setting up one touch macros to select and heal a toon. Very quite keys. Lit up and comfy too.

It is why I spread them out with some spaces to see around the bars if attacked. Sometimes with terrain and walls the zoom out is too close in to notice attacks, but if u guys are not having problems with it like that I might stack bars tighter.

I would rather it be clean like yours.

What res u running with 5 bars across?
I have a 26 inch tv with 1360x768. Game does not show any higher res than that. My graphics card shows that as max.

first is from my first clr life, took the ss for TR char gen purposes...looking at them side by side i wasnt even really close lol. (notice the metas....healbot)
second one is from the 2nd clr life for the same reason, although that char is now doing some arcane lives as a robot.

initial layout was slightly changed over the course of the 2nd life, but is still somewhat similar.
1-6 on 3 bars are easy to reach so i put stuff ill do on the fly/need quickly there.
other things arent so important so i have the luxury to mouse click them.

    One
    Two

this thread is gonna be hell for lower resolutions, or ppl with slower internet

Well, I don't play zoomed all the way in FPS style as seen in the screenshot . It's the opposite, I zoom all the way out. And yes I can see monsters flanking me just fine, never noticed it being a problem.

I'm using 1920x1080 res. It's alot harder to keep it clean on lower res, of course.

I play on a 27" monitor. Though I had 22" monitor before, and using the same resolution (1920x1080) appears fine.

That's an awkwardly resolution - may have to do with limitations of the TV. 26" should support 1080p.. really.

Yeah, when i bought it it was on sale and refurbished for around $230 a 1.5 years ago. I think it is 720p. Now the monitors have come down in price. This was bigger than any monitor at the time max was 24" I think, so 26 inch is nice. Tried 32 inch but it was way to big. It is a Vizo TV with a nice aspect to it. 16x9. I did not like the 16x10 monitors at 24 inches. Seemed to high compared to width for me.
    It is just a game.

Yeah my Vizio is 720p, but takes 1360x768 when hooked to computer. I liked it because at the time it was a great deal refurbished. Also it is 26.1" diagonal screen, and just high enough. Did not like the 16x10 screens because they where slightly higher and slightly less width. Any higher less than 2 feet away was irritating for some reason. My HDTV Vizio 26'' (26.1") is at walmart for the same price new.

Where did u get that 27" monitor at? or is it a hdtv?

Mine is a monitor. I prefer monitor because well.. they're designed specifically for desktop use mind. HDTVs are more designed to be viewed from a distance. Yes, 32" I found to be way to large. 24-27" range worked well for me.

I got mine here when it was on sale: (~$240 I believe)

I need to adjust my bars and hot keys. I'm playing on a HD multimedia laptop, res 1600x900 17'3 screen, with a wireless mouse (just a cheap Microsoft wireless, not a gaming mouse). I don't like having too many bars around the screen, can scroll for the stuff I don't use all the time (Thaz is only lvl 13 on life 1 atm, so will be doing more adjusting as I get more stuff).

Question. How do you hide the background/outline for the quickbars?

Oh, and of course, the hot key functions are not bound to char, so the hot keys have to work for my other chars as well.

One problem I have, is that I keep losing the mouse arrow when in a dungeon - as in, I try to use the mouse to click on something, but I don't always see the arrow

You mean lock the toolbars right? Hit "Ctrl =". I believe that locks the hotbars in place and hides the outline.

Hot Keys applies to the ddo client, not the char, so all hotkeys configured should apply to all characters.

I sometimes have the same problem. I use the mouse look view by default (little circle in middle) and hold right-click button to switch to mouse pointer.. problem is the mouse arrow is so small, it's sometimes hard to find it in the heat of battle. Being able to adjust the size/color of the mouse arrow would help alleviate this problem...

No, what I mean is that in Firesmall_at's pic there doesn't seem to be a background on the quickbars, when in the other pics there is.

It is DDOlite. If u go to the UI user interface forum there iss a sticky on how to install and link to the download site. I also like blue because it darkens the health bar background instead of transparent. Both shave off the borders to see around them if monster is there.
