Default Best ways to raise GP in Stormreach

I have recently started to look at farming as a method of raising cash (GP).

I farm adamantine ore in the "A Relic of a Sovereign Past" quest with my lvl 18 rgr. I sell 15 ore at 22K PP on AH ending up with 15K PP after the AH cut. Which is a nice return at 1K per ore and is well below what some ppl price it at on the AH.

My bank balance however has suffered a lot of expenditure recently and I would like to start farming more quests to increase my balance.

I am not here to overprice items and rip ppl off but just to offer reasonably priced items to make a little profit

So if anyone can offer some advice on what quests to farm or any other methods for raising some much needed cash, I would be eternally grateful.

    Taps in the Orchard...

    Rares=Relics in GH explorer area...

Addy Ores (you already mentioned this).

If you have a WIZ...Earth Elemental Gems are good to farm.

One other thing to consider...if you really really need cash. Run the shroud and sell large ingrediants...I don't recommend this though.

I got a lot of money running Tangleroot Bore. There are plenty collectable locations there which make you end up with drowshoods, soarwoods, dusts en dragonshards.

Mind you, the run is so boring you'll probably end up killing yourself with a blunt spoon.

Sins of Attrition is an easily solo'd quest that can drop large GS ingredients. Unlike farming Ores though, you will want to do no more than 8 runs per week or suffer Ransack.
Farming Bloodstone/RoSS in sands is also very easy and both items fetch a high price, but since the drop rates of those items is so very low, it may take a long time to see a profit. You should be able to the 2 Bloodstone chests and 1 RoSS chest in anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes, jump into the nearest quest (Chamber of Kourush) summon and release a lvl1hire to reset Sands, and start again. So 24-36 runs per hour. Factor in ship buffs and sell/repair and you'd realistically look at 20-30 runs per hour there. Depending on how many rare spawns you get out of that, you'd have to factor in Ransack again...

I run the shroud for LDS and I get surplus larges mainly stones/shraps that sell for a decent price to pay for my yugo pot and heal/res/recon scroll addictions.

And not to forget that random loot from Shroud sells not bad at brokers, when it is not a special one in which case /trade or AH gets you a surplus.

Many already mentioned the "special" stuff that yields high income ... but here some more mundane tipps:

    .) Get a haggle + 15 item
    .) Get a Charisma + 6 item
.) Put both on when selling
.) If you have a Skill Boost, use that one as well
.) Run Shroud, Inspired Quater and Dreaming Dark quests as much as possible before ransack (you can run Shroud and recall at the end to run it more often). Those have a really high amount of loot ... just sell that loot and it should very positively affect yout bank balance (and shroud additionally gives you ingreds which you can later on use to craft you some nice gear ) ... for example one shroud run on average nets me 15k plat ... just from random loot ... IQ & DD quests are all quite short, offer some chests inside plus endreward, which makes for a nice income too

Also a very good way to get plat: Farm epic scrolls once you reach level 20 ... on a ranger that might be a bit of a pain though =/

When you reach level 20 & have access to Phiarlan Carnival Adventures Pack, go there & do daily epics all of 4 quest there. Sell the loots you got there.

Also don't forget what Urjak has mentioned above on how to profit more by raising your haggle skill.

Wouldnt it be more profitable to rip them apart and sell the cannith ingredients?
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Hmm for me it was always just running higher level quest, since there is a bigger chance for good loot to AH.
Especially not completed Shroud is cool, since there is pleanty of chests, sometimes you get some useful item which can be AH, and on top of that some ingreediens.

Raiding the Giant's Vault (Dreaming Dark level 19 solo) can be run in just a few minutes once you know the quest, and it has 3-6 chests (usually there seem to be 5 in total). It's a nice quest for quickly farming high level random loot and crafting ingredients.

When looking at reward lists + looted items look out for items with guild slots. Large guild slots can sell for a lot. Deconstruct them first so they are easier to spot on the AH.

    buy low sell high.

Don't just price your addy at one set price. search for it on the AH every time you post one and price your stack at 5k less than the best price on there(but make your minimum that 22k). typically you won't need to wait more than half a day for adamantine to sell this way. you can make even more off of it if you are willing to wait, but this risks wasting money on posting fees. there will always be a little money in addy ore because the more time goes by the more high level crafters there are, and running the quest becomes no less annoying.

keep an eye on everything expensive in the AH. if you see an item consistently posted for certain prices(and it seems to be disappearing before the timer is up), then you know it's rough value. If you see something for much less than this buy it and sell it for a profit. This festivus season I bought a bunch of Sunblades, because with the winter turn ins the supply skyrockets. people cut the price just to make a quick buck, I buy them if they go under 50k. these will sell for 100k or more if sold at the right time(Ive seen them go for 200, but they sit there a long time usually at these prices).

Greater essences are a good one to keep a look at. the more money someone has access to the more they are willing to spend on them, so keep an eye out for deals on the AH, and make a profit on the turnaround. just be wary of AH tax. working with something like this in mass it's easy to forget that. I won't buy something if I'm not confident I can mark it up at least 50%.

At your level you are probably better off farming large ingredients and unbound items than addy ore. addy is steady income, but it's not all that profitable for the time spent.

edit: plus what SirAggravator said above me. Even at very low level you have a chance of pulling items with large guild slots. always keep a close eye on your trash loot and end rewards. With items like weapons and armor you should definitely key it for crafting, but with hats and helms and things this wont sort them out of the middle of everything so isn't necessary. just set the price high and people will typically check out why. You could post a hat of bluffing +1 with a large slot on the AH for 6k and it may never sell, but post it for 50k and it will sell in an hour(you can probably get more out of a large slot, just making a point).

Im surprised no1 here came up with this..

Play the game, worry less about plat, plat wont give you raid completions or bound items.

Plat can buy you shroud crafting materials, but it still cant buy you cleansing stones, just a tiny example.

While most normal quests will ransack in 7-8 runs, Sins is an exception. Each chest in every quest has its own ransack timer. In Sins, the side hallway chests are random (3 of 6 spawn each time), and you can face different bosses each time, that means you can run the quest fifty-odd times before you have to start worrying about ransacking the end chests (while you're doing that, you'll eventually ransack the hallway chests, but it'll take a while).

Raiding the Giant's Vault is another good high level quest to farm for chests. 3 end chests, up to 3 optional chests, pretty quick and easy if you don't mind some jumping around.

Ah yes, that's true, but personally I always choose 'Badge' in order to ensure all 3 side chests... Maybe I'll rethink that for farming purposes... Yeah, by choosing a different banquet table item each time I'd face a different boss. Even without doing that, since there are various random side chests, ransack would be much slower than the usual 8/week. Good advice.

The only time I have any significant amount of plat personally is when I start selling epic scrolls, greensteel ingredients, and the like. If you have a decent capped caster, you can be sitting on a plat mine by simply farming epic scrolls.
