    Default when Druids come out

When druids are released it would be nice if they could heal as well as a cleric and fvs it stinks that we only have 2 healing classes for this game I know for newer players this makes it difficult to find healers to level to 20. Seems like 70% of groups are waiting on last spot to be filled by healer class.

When druids come out Turbine will have to be very careful they aren't as dominating as they can be in PNP.

I'm betting on the use of enhancments to balance that. Even if druids get acess to all healing spells, they won't be as effective as clerics/fvs if they don't have acess to healing boosting enhanc.

Oh, that's simple: Their spells will only work in outdoor wilderness areas!

Druids get all the cure wounds and mass cure wounds spells, as well as single target Heal. However, those groups will still be waiting on a slave to hold their hands, as they don't want a divine caster, they want a nanny. Since most players don't like being nanny and prefer actually enjoying the game vs holding hands, being screamed at and cursed if they do anything ever but heal or let someone's hp drop below 99%, blamed when the Barbarian runs through three elite traps, aggros half the map, and then drags the mobs back into the group, blamed when the group scatters and runs around pillars and obstacles blocking incoming healing, and generally being treated like third class hirelings; they'll not join those groups anyway.

There are plenty of Clerics and Favored Souls already. They are the ones who learned to not pug, and go anonymous in the Who tab. Druid players will do the same thing.

while i agree that Divine Caster =/= Healer in MOST content, there is some content (mostly epics and raids) that requires dedicated healing

if a divine can offensively cast/melee WHILE healing during a raid, GREAT

but in my experience, those that can actually do this (as opposed to those who THINK they can) are rather rare

I imagine it will be the same with Druids

    Default Druids is for healins?

sorry, I don't understand how a druid could be relied upon for a healer any more than a bard could be.
useful in a pinch but i can see a druid wanting to get into the fight more than the battle cleric does.

as for my self I'm more interested in the shapeshifting/polymorph abilities of the druid. something able to switch between a CC, feral DPS and a support character as a jack of all trades is where I'm looking.

IIRC a Druid has about the healing capacity of a Cleric that is two levels lower, in pen and paper. No Mass Heal but they get everything else, plus a few healing-over-time spells.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

The vast majority of groups that have to wait for a healer are doing content that a good group doesn't need a healer for, does not need a dedicated healer for an average group, and is beyond the group waiting on a "healer". I'm not talking epics or raids here.

I'll admit a lack of grouping experience in watching paint dry. I occasionally like to watch TV but do something to occupy my hands; then I farm for scrolls. I've TRed my FvS though so only my sorc occasionally does that now. I still haven't pulled any scrolls. The one time I grouped for watching paint dry, I ended up healing the group, meleeing, and stacking dp on the boss. Which also meant I had aggro the entire time. I got a seal of something or other. I don't remember exactly, because I don't care enough. It took 3 pots of coffee to make it through a relatively short one, it was so boring. I couldn't imagine a longer, boring as ****, quest. I'd have to go to the store in the middle.

    Vets will have more fuuuuun!

Speculation fail, guys... reserve all the hand wringing and winging for a time closer to their release. We all know the spell lists like the back of our hands, and we all have our favorites and know which ones are useless. We don't even have the proposed list available to pick apart yet. When we do, THEN we can pidgeon-hole them into a single party role, and rail against that cookie cutter too.

Until then... mellow out... it's Friday. Go have a drink and calm the frak down.

Last night I ran the Lordsmarch Chain {Diplo} on my lvl 13 Tempest.

I put up the LFM for elite bravery so as to have the best chance at getting a group.

We did Diplo on Elite with no rogue/arti.

The Cleric then left saying that he wasn't going to do Frame Work without a trapper.

So we were now looking for a cleric/fs and a trapper {we already had a bard and the 6th player had DCd}.

On the Who list there were maybe 12 clerics/fs between lvls 11 and 13 - All but 2 already in group and those 2 both replied with a no thanks to my tell.

I told the party I'd grab a rogue hire off the DDOStore for the traps at the end if need be and we went with a cleric hire {Tempys} while I left the LFM up as IP.
Unfortunately we wiped at the main gate having cleared outside.

So we went back in on hard - this time with a fighter/arti splash who'd hit the LFM - still with Tempys as the only healer {Bard had gone while we were looking for more for the elite run}.

No Cleric or FS hit the LFM - We completed with ease.

Eyes of Stone {also hard} was no problem after this - Tempys again the only healer.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moral of the story - Tempys is a great healer.

Sorry, For ELITE there are quests in this game that require a real healer {even if said healer spends 75% of the time killing stuff}. On normal or hard this does not apply.

Quests I would prefer not to do on ELITE without a real healer:

    Frame Work
    Wiz King
    Offering of Blood
    All of Gianthold
    Mired in Kobolds
    Relic of a Sovereign Past
    Made to Order
    VoN 3 and 4
    Taming the Flames
    Small Problem
    Proof is in the Poison
    Freshen the Air
    The Swiped Signet

Anything of lvl 16 or higher - except Rainbow and Running with the Devils {Hires are fine in these two}.

    And all raids of course.

    well we have warforged now.
what im looking forward to is a self healing caster that doesn't need to be warforged. but for comparison, the warforged wiz/sorc is already very powerful, and i don't think the druid will be as strong.

But its nice that they get the ability to heal groups as well, which would make them more in demand.

    What he said.
Give them everything but mass heal.
    Thank you.
