    Default Floating Leaf - ***?

I was reading the Floating Leaf build on ddowiki and stumbled across this particular comment:

"Note: The Floating Leaf uses rapiers as its main weapons. While using non monk weapons, this causes the Floating Leaf to be uncentered. However, this does not cause it to lose the monk AC bonuses."

This contradicts the official word from Turbine that a Monk loses all of its abilities when uncentered, including the AC bonus from Wisdom.

I would be inclined to go with the official line, but would like to know if anyone has any evidence to the contrary.
Don't talk to me about realism, you're posting in a fantasy role-playing game forum.

It has always been true that the Wis-bonus to AC does not require the full centered requirements. This is consistent with the 3.5 rules. Turbine now calls it "defensively centered"; i.e., all the armor requirements, but not the weapon requirement.

Although the Eladrin quote is slightly incorrect. The class bonus to AC does require full centering, which is not consistent with 3.5 rules.

That's not much better, a Ranger/Monk with no armour is going to have less AC than one with a good chain shirt or BP, even with the WIS bonus.

Its possible to get armor bonus elsewhere such as bracers or robes. Then the wisdom bonus only needs to compete with the enhancement bonus the armor would of had. Just considering base magic items and not named ones =D Then again many armors often limit ones max dex bonus, depending on the character this can get quite high.

I have not looked at that build in ages. Having a red exclamation point in the upper righthand corner of my screen all the time bothered me, so I rerolled it.

I had a screenshot of Wruntblender (when he was a ranger) at 90 ac (granted, with raid buffs) using icy rainments with a monk splash. Monk splash is a LOT more ac than real armor.

(As a note, like all of my screenshots of 90 ac on that toon - I have about 3ish from different lives - they're all for tanking hard VoD, where 80 is easily enough. :P)

Edit: Would like to add, the max-possible-AC-builds all have a monk splash for a reason.
