With cosmetic pets being available soon, does this mean people will stop looking for some rouge in general chat?

You collect silly pets, you put them in pokeballs and summon them out when required.

Cosmetic pets are popular in games like Everquest and in Asherons Call as well. Some people like the fluff.

Aye, I agree. But if other people want it AND it doesn't cause lag.......whatever. Shrug.

Hopefully the guy they had working on this wasn't taking time on this fluff away from somewhere useful.

Eh, it probably means animal companions, familiars, and other cool related things coming down the pipe...

More power to them. (plus I am a sucker and will probably have a pet or two for my cat amusement, high on cocoa puff days)

I just thought of a pet that I would actually like.

Shroud blades that follow me around in the Marketplace.

    This.

Although a mini-plush Barbarian I could hug and call Shade would also satisfy my inner sarcastic roleplayer

Mad posted before that they have been doing some hiring, probably in preparation for the expansion. I'm sure the extra hands will make up for it. Plus, they are proably similar in code to hirelings and summons, who are about as useful as a non functioning pet half the time anyway.
The problem is never how to get new, innovative thoughts into your mind, but how to get old ones out. Every mind is a building filled with archaic furniture. Clean out a corner of your mind and creativity will instantly fill it.

Looks to me like a generic familiar/mount sort of thing.
Remember, we are getting "pets" soon.

Looks like we are going to be able to teach them to do things. Such as open doors or the like. Aka tricks.

Looks like it has "pack mule" bags as well (gear),

and the storage for the various pets we could have (stable).

Hey if one could open a door that would be pretty nice, replace that "need a hire for this lever" type deal!

Your failure is that fluff sells. Fluff sells a lot more than power gaming. This fluff can help pay the way for more content which is what you want.
