    Default another stormsongs travesty ! 13 fighter 6 monk 1 wz

    yet again i'm working on a build, this time its to play around with the capabilities of ranged dps (longbow) ironically i feel ranger isn't the best suited class to doing ranged dmg ^^
    feel free to shred this guys, i will msot liekly be popping in some +2 etc tomes, but i plan on keeping this build solo capable so the cleric dil is kinda a must (i dont like potion relaince), we'll see later on if i swap it out for rogue.

    the idea is to mele just enough to get my ki up then sit it out and devistate with 10k when manyshot is down, and keep the arrows raining in ^^ i'm also hopefull i can take advantage of the kai regen during sneak to get my kai to 20 without needing to mele (think my ****-monk's kai caps at 19 when sneaking, but some con will fix that right?)

    i already have this build done up to level 6, and solo isn'ty bad at that level as i can use most wiz and cleric scrolls np, so i pop invis, runspeed, jump, and can skip quite a few optionals etc in quests and zerg em down.

    i would take 12 fighter instead and 7 monk just for the self heals

    guess its a good thing when all i see are people mentioning the blue bar ^^ i probably will take the 7 monk over the fighter at level 20, currently have this build up to level 10 and i'm pulling off 40 dmg (base, no added effects) hits per 3-4 arrows using my silver longbow, rips through **** fast as long as its not undead.

    Any chance you can add a DEX tome? That would let you put more of your lvl-ups into STR.

    I would drop Mobility, SotR, Power Crit, and GWF to add TWF x3 & Power Atk.

    You were/are definitely on to something. Level ups should probably be in wis rather than dex or str to maximize the benefits of 10k stars. Please see Monkcheri Amour via my signature for a similar build and relevant comments.

    I would drop the intelligence completely and spend the points elsewhere. Maybe into Dex to reduce the number of level ups needed to get IPS. I'm assuming you added it so you could cast your few wizard spells, but you can instead either:
    A: use a +3 or higher int item
    or
    B: Not bother with them because the most useful ones with only 1 wizard level are the buffs, and they will only last 1 minute at the most.
    or
    C: eat a +3 tome sometime (or a smaller one in conjunction with some amount of A)

    Also You might pick up the 7th monk level sooner rather than later. Wholeness of body is a very nice tool to have when leveling.

    If you can fit it in you might consider the t2 of earth stance. Wind stance lowers your HP and doesn't effect bow attack speed or zen to hit (though it is required for 10k stars, I will never be in this stance on my archer), strength stance lowers 10k stars proc and zen to hit, wisdom stance lowers damage per hit. Earth stance raises HP, gives damage mitigation, and does not effect DPS based on wis/str. In addition, with only t2 stances available it is the only one that will give Ki regen while wielding a bow. Getting hit regens your ki no matter what your wielding in earth stance.

    Yep, mountain stance is a must. Also, if you can manage to get stonedust handwraps, they are really ideal for this build during the mid levels as you can (1) stun the enemy so your hits connect and you more quickly build ki rather than "kite it around like a tool", to borrow wax_on_wax_off's phrase, (2) turn the enemy to stone for the same benefits as 1, and (3) possibly have stoneskin cast upon you as you remain in mountain stance.
