Golden Guile has a Deception property, which includes a chance to envelope the enemy in dark shadows. That's not the same as being blinded, but is similar in that it's a condition that enables Sneak Attacks.
It is superior to a blinding item in that it works on creatures with blindness immunity, especially bosses.
Blinding enemies causes them to slide around while CC'd and make them take twice as long to kill. Using deception effects on bosses will cause aggro to bug out and the boss will turn and swap aggro randomly. My advice is not to use either, the penalties outweigh the benefits.
Thanks for bringing me up to speed, I could have sworn I saw the Epic Demon of the Frenzied Blood spazzing out when a Rogue was using an Epic Midnight Greetings on him in a recent run. Melee'ing blinded mobs has always been a source of frustration for me, especially when you literally have to be standing still next to a mob in DDO to land melee hits.

Devs, are you sure it's a good idea to put impact on the new maul? Maybe if we get enough nice bludgeoning weapons we'll start seeing some people actually taking IC: bludgeoning over slashing. I know the SoS is there and it's hard to make something that can compete with that, but if you put impact on new blunt weapons no one will ever even consider dropping slashing :/
Just M2C.

I like it. Even a warhammer still only has the same crit profile as a longsword and that ain't nothing to write home about. One single nice blunt weapon or even a couple of nice bludgeoning weapons isn't enough to get anyone to change their Improved Critical selection. Even a weapon as impressive as an epic Chimera's Fang isn't enough to make people like bastard swords in general - they just plan for having that one specific weapon.
Putting Impact on this weapon means that it might actually see some use against enemies other than skeletons and liches.
Templar's Retribution (Bastard Sword) dropped for me in the Spinner of Shadows.

the under dark is exactly that: dark. in many forgotten realms games(NWN2 for example) races from the underdark get penalties for being in sunlight, and many enemies from there such as nightwalkers and nightwings are pretty self explanatory, night creatures. light is something they dont deal with, and so it damages them. cant confirm, but pretty danged sure this is the reasoning
A couple won't be enough - but it would be a start.
Epic Fang is a start, because some might actually take the b-sword proficiency for it (to get glancing blows), and then use other b-swords as well in S&B mode. The problem is that a single dragonmark gives you prof, so people might actually just get the dragonmark and stick to the sole epic fang ignoring other b-swords. But if you don't have room/use for 3 dragonmarks, at least you will consider taking the proficiency feat.
Again, blunt weapons (not HWs ofc) aren't used right now. If good new blunt weapons have impact on them (the HoX drop has impact too I think), people will use just those, never crafting a blunt GS/alchemical (min II has impact too actually^^), and never actually going blunt, but just using those few weapons in a few situations.
Replace impact with another interesting ability, make people actually spend a feat on IC:blunt and try out some blunt builds, it would add variety...we have earthshatter warhammer (or w/e, the one from lord of stone), we have new tenderizer, the one from HoX, this one, ratkiller...nothing special but still pretty nice for starters to consider making a bludgeoning kensei first life maybe...Even if it was just first lives for 28 pointers, it would still be better than what it is now: nothing XD
Obviously there are more urgent problems to solve, but the release of new items is an opportunity to get things going in the right direction. Removing impact might be annoying on short term but I think it'd add variety to the game later on...

Got as well my copy of the Bow in the road chest ... it seems this one drop frequently ... however I guess on live the drop rate of the items will be lower ...
In the End Chest of the follow up quest then as well the Docent
I would be very interested in the Epic versions of the Bow if it exist, someone already got a shard/seal/scroll?
Also someone got a Rune Arm from the new Quests?
