Rage spell. If it stops stacking with that, it's a big loss.

Basically if that's the case, it's a huge nerf to dedicated melee DPSers, who have few spellcasting abilities (just clickies). It's arguably a buff to those that use UMD regularly. A big buff to melee arcanes/divines, and even casting arcanes/divines, if they're not using DC-based stuff.

Which, you know, is exactly what the game needs right now... those DPS Barbs and Fighters are just steamrolling far too much content.

Rage spell. Curious if they coded Barb rages as morale.

Essentially, this is turning Madstone into a "rage"

Oh wow...that just kicks the item right in the junk. The debuff on saves and AC for monks is bad enough, but yeah if no stacking with rage spell then that is really bad.

I guess having 30% striding on a pair of boots I actually want to wear on my melee was too much to ask for.

Depends on how much the penalty to Charisma is, I think. If it's a big hit, I'd rather have 100% chance to scroll myself than another 40 HP.

Since the Rage spell stacks with barb rage, probably not.

Not liking the Monk tactics hit. I'd prefer to see them boosted across the board to monk-usefulness, not the other way around.

Wonder what this does to the Madstone effect of the boots.

Yep... even if it stacks with Rage, my Monk's days of wearing his Madstones nearly constantly may be over (only removed for when I need to give Grasps, basically). Outside of boss fights, they won't make sense anymore if they nerf my stunning fist DC.

At least I'll have less of a debate about whether making the Abishai boots for him would be a waste...

Very nice. Too bad this won't be retroactive for TR several months ago that lost two +3 tomes.

The guaranteed items after a third completion is great news though. I think I ran Attack on Stormreach series a dozen times before I finally got a pair of Windhowler bracers. Overall looks like a very nice update. Now just need to check out the quests.

Personally I think they should make it either level 8 or 9.

    AMEN!

So much potential good about this update, and one really, really, REALLY bad thing (Madstone boots changes). Guess we can't have it all, can we?

ouch... that's bad. never used madstones but that really slaps its buff down hard

depends how bad those penalties are(particularly the will save/wisdom combination rage doesn't help much if you're danced) but the utility of that item is crippled for melee, and greatly improved for (divine) casters

What I'm most shocked by, though, is the fact that ioun stones are now a reward option for 3rd completion of Dreaming Dark, thats just wow. One of the single most difficult to obtain items in the game just got a significant boost in obtain-ability.
You're assuming pale lavander and/or vibrant purple will have the same drop rate as the useless ones hehe.

I'll be checking as soon as I can tonight.

Got a feeling the price of tomes is going to drop by a lot on the AH now - I know I've got at least 10 +2s, spread out over different characters (that I've been saving for TRing) that I won't need any more...

Is it sad that when I read that in the release notes I thought, "I better wait until it's confirmed as working before I use my +3 tomes on the toon I aim to TR since it probably won't be implemented correctly"?

Let me say I am really excited about this change and hope it works correctly.
