Love this change, no more stockpiling tomes for that hypothetical final life. Yay!!

To the person responsible for making Tomes continue on through a TR:
HUGE thank you.
(And a small, quiet prayer that it Works As Intended.)
Finally! I can eat those really cool couple of tomes I have been loathe to use until I'm absolutely certain I won't be TR'ing. (Just as soon as this new feature is proven to actually work.)

They didn't exactly reduce the market for store tomes. Look at it this way... if you were planning to TR or multi TR an alt would you be willing to waste TP/money on a tome that would disappear? Now say you are planning to TR/multi TR a favorite character would you be willing to put the money down on tomes knowing you'd get to keep them throughout the course of that alts entire existence? Hell yeah! I'd pay for that convenience! But no money from me till I know its working properly.

this line is why it should be pre-eaten tomes, who is gonna be the first to try the feature when its known that if it doesn't work, you won't be reimbursed for the lost tome.
I have a character that's eaten a store supreme ability 2, since i've already acquired the replacement tomes I'll need for next life, I'll be willing to test for live. But no way i'd buy a new tome to test on live.

Re-read the release note:
It is still possible that the pale lavender has a .01% drop rate and the spot/listen one has a 97% drop rate.Completing the final quest in this series three times (and every third time thereafter) will offer players a single random Ioun Stone, crafting items, and random loot from its end reward list.

Heh, even if that is the case, its still a significant boost in obtain-ability. Before you really couldn't farm an ioun stone as they could drop absolutely anywhere without any rhyme or reason. Now with a specific means of obtaining, they'll be much easier to get; theoretically speaking.
After waiting for what seemed like forever, I finally TR'ed a clonk that had eaten a +3 dex tome, giving up on tomes being retained.
The new build started with a 14 Dex, and I was willing to use a level-up at 16 to qualify for iTWF/gTWF with a +2 tome.
Now I'm willing to buy a +3 Dex tome from the store. Thanks, Turbine.
tome retention is great news, I'm so tired of losing those bad boys.
my main has lost a full set of +3's when Tr'ing was first released, 2 +4's with 4 +2s, and a supreme +3 store tome. What can I say? I just get bored afterawhile at cap.
Shadowsteel [TR train wreck]
Now I feel justified looting that +4 tome I pulled in TOD on my main who is a melee............... .
Just curious how will it work? when you tr will the tome be in your bank for reuse? or will the ability stay on permanant? Im guessing the ability wont be permanant cause thats way op having +4 stats at level 1 for example esp +4 int for skills.
Ghallanda - now with fewer alts and more ghostbane
most likely if u have eaten +1 tomes in all abilities, +2 and +3, the inherent bonuses will appear auto as following:
+1 at level 3
+2 at level 7
+3 at level 11
but if u have eaten only +3 tomes ull get inherent bonus +3 at level 11... u wont get +1 at level 3 or +2 at level 7.
This should be the way.
