A quick note to those not in the know about Turbine's other big game LOTRO.

The most recent expansion featured an item that you would get on all your toons if you pre-ordered (or paid alot of TP per toon) that drastically increased xp from mob kills.

It seems likely that Turbine will have a big permanent XP boost item as part of the expansion pre-orders or as a big cost per toon otherwise. I would not be surprised to see something as high as a 40% xp boost item.

Players can now start their characters at level 7 with a new tier of Veteran Status! Veteran Status (7) can be earned by acquiring 3,000 total Favor or by purchasing the account option in the DDO Store.

as for voice actors I wanted Betty White for Lolth but I got voted down.

Whatever you do, PLEASE do not let a male voice actor play Lolth.

u know Lolth looks like the most beautiful and menacing drow u can imagine at once (still Danifae avatar btw?)

also ppl know that drow keep their youthful look even in high age and dont ever get a wrinkle even!


well, less people might know there once existed a drow who grew old and decayed, mightiest of all drow that ever existed - maybe, just maybe a bit less than Menzoberra the Kinless but probably not even by her.

the mostly blessed of Lolth ever been and one, whose name wasnt spoken aloud and for several thousand years was only known as Matron Mother Baenre, who lost her look due to some unholy (cute, hmm?) rituals like Zin Carla and others directly involving her goddess, taking her youth nonetheless empowered her even more!

As the head of house Baenre she bred quite a row of very renown descendants like Jarlaxle Baenre, Triel , Quenthel or Gromph just to name a few (she got many more - hey, she had the time^^)

She was maybe she most magically protected being on whole Toril, excepted maybe only by the oldest and ancient dragons there were!

When the treacherous demon Errtu (expectable from a demon^^) exposed her to the effect of a dead-magic gem the ugly, small and smelling, hairy and redbearded gnome Bruenor Battlehammer was able to slay her with some effort ending her millenia persisting reign over house Baenre and the City of Spiders, Menzoberranzan...

so u see why dwarfs are evil now!!!

back to begin, i dont think even a drow (goddess) that takes 20pounds of cheesecake a day with a gallon of caramel-milkshake would ever get a look like the above - as long as its not a curse ofc, that must be a mighty one to penetrate her spell resistance^^


even as an old lady Mother Baenre rather looked like that - with an immense aura of power and that lovely smile on her face

I found the lolthiscoming.com domain, which they all missed.

So after listening to the DDO podcast mention the other underdark web domain names you punched in a bunch of related words into a search engine and got lucky with a hit?

Yeah maybe that's what he meant. Purchasing the account option would qualify as a way to get new players "up into the higher levels a little bit faster", I guess. Maybe Veteran Status 7 will be included in the expansion package.

You're right. To get the true D&D feel, DDO NEEDS to switch to text and voice only. No more of this modern "graphics" and "animation" junk. I didn't need that in 1979, so why do we need it now? Plus all voice-overs need to be done by teenage guys with cracking voices.
I'll accept one concession only: VIPs can buy a paid expansion to allow state-of-the art classic D&D graphics: pictures of hastily painted miniatures (made of 100% lead of course, "non-toxic" is for sissies) of the monsters you are fighting, but under no circumstances can they move or be animated--that would just ruin my game immersion. To be even more realistic, you can't really have separate miniatures for every monster. Orcs can fill in for ANYTHING with two legs, and a big old d100 makes for a perfect beholder.

Betty wouldn't have been intimidating enough, now whoever did the voice for Mom (Futurama, head of Mom's Robot Factory) she woud have been a good choice you don't want to cross that old battle axe.
