    Default Halfling DMarks, Cleric PL, Barb Rage??

    Need a (preferably non UMD) self-sufficient but slim and trim Splashed Multi-Class Barbarian build for a Barb Past Life

    Can you use Halfing Dragonmarks while raged?
    Can you use the Cleric Active (purchased) Past Life Healing Word while raged?


    Considering....

    Helf Barbarian with Cleric Dilletante and Cleric PL Feat ... Could be cumbersome with rages and such but great utility.

    Halfling Barbarian with Dragonmarks and/or Active Cleric PL

    Not interested in a bunch of UMD swaps, I've had enough of that tripe with my Rogue Ketz and my Arti Returing (with 2 Rogue PLs)

    Have enough gear to make whatever viable but looking for Fast Furious and Survivable

    Any help?

    Default All Righty Lets Talk SF Pots

    So...Lemme get this Straight....SF Pots can be the MAIN source of self-sufficiency (aside from build, gear, ship, guild pots yadda yadda) right?

    As a pure barb or a 2Ftr/18Barb...

    I don't want to feel like I am "Getting By" with SF Pots...

    Are they REALLY that big of game changer for a Barb? I've seen videos with them in action and looked impressive to say the least.

    If this is the case do I need to fill up 2 pages of Pre-TR inv with them? 4 pages? 6 pages + 3 pages of bank?

    After a life of 8ShintaoMonk/12Ftr Kensai WSS and a...

    2Ftr/6KotCPal/12Shintao2Monk and currently...

    2Monk/2Ftr/16and holding RadServantCleric...

    The thought of putting all my eggs in one SF basket makes me shudder.

    If you want DMs and Clr past life, Barbarians come equipped with a Dismiss Rage option. Follow with a Lesser Res pot and you're all set.

    Make some displacement and haste clickables from the Shroud (2 each if you can)...

    You can survive on CSW potions from 1-10.

    At 11th level, start using your displacement clickables before every big fight, and you can heal up afterwards with CSW... You still won't need to use too many SF potions.

    Fill up 1-2 inventory pages of them (200-400 SF potions)... That should be good enough to get you back to 20 where you can TR again.

    Also why not go 2 levels of rogue instead of fighter and pick up UMD and use heal scrolls between fights?

    This is just one life of many, right? Once you hit 20, you'll TR again?

    Pots can be used while raged.
    Beef jerky can be activated before a fight.
    Candy canes don't need UMD.
    When solo hire a cleric.
    If you feel guilty about a devine spending sp on your hp buy that feeling of by buying them some wands or sp pots.
    I can't answer the dragonmark activation while raged question.

    2Rogue/2Fighter/16Barb

    TWF build
    Evasion with enough Dex + Uncanny Dodge to Work it
    UMD (Triple Air GS Necklace with CHA Skills +6)
    Conc Op Goggles with HP and Fear/Poison Immune
    Triple Earth GS Boots with Acid Resist and HP
    Min2 Longsword
    Airx3 Longsword
    ML 16 Mabar Cloak
    Upgraded Fabricators Set
    Madstone Boots
    DT with Hvy Fort, Corrosive Salt, Destruction
    DT with Hvy Fort, Healing Amp 20% and Melodic Guard
    Minos
    Upgraded Sora Katra Set
    etc etc etc

    and a Mid 90s to Low 100s Crafter plus favor to put it to good use.

    It "feels" like UMD plus SF pots may be the "better" way to go over...

    Helf Cleric Dille or Halfling (lol) with DMs

    May roll up an Elf and rock the Longswords or

    Craft up some DAxes and roll a Horc

    If you just want a Barb icon for a TR, and you're planning 2 rogue 2 fighter, why not make it 2 rogue / 6 ranger / 12 barb instead?
    Free TWF and ITWF (instead of fighter feats), Ram's Might more than makes up for the loss of 1 point of Ftr strength, you can use cure wands in the early levels (alternating pot/wand/pot/wand) for much faster healing before scrolls are usable via UMD, and your Ref save is better than it was on the other build (making evasion more useful), and you have more skill points if that's your thing.

    I hate fighters and barbs, and this was my plan to get me through both of those lives when I eventually get around to them.

    I can say no to the Clr past life feat while raging. My Barb life tried it.

    I went helf and 13 wisdom and did the dilly healing line. Unrage and heal scroll. Took care of the post rage wipe out at the same time.

    ^^^ Thanks that pretty much seals the deal for the Helf Cleric Dille

    To Calebro: I had considered that split for the feats and wand useage but had also overlooked the other benefits (skill points, saves spells) so this too seems to fit the play style I am used to.

    The added value of Trap Skills will be a nice change of pace. I've leveled 4 other lives of rogue on 2 other toons so will have no issues gearing for that. Especially since you just need a Spot item on (I know some of you don't need but I can be lazy/cautious at times lol) as trap gear and it helps with Spotting enemies.

    The added Skill Points too make UMD a more viable option more for gearing and arcane scrolls/wands.

    Been eating up +2 Tomes on other toons so really gonna try and limit these on this life so goin with this intitial stat split assuming a +1 Tome as I get these in spades.

    Str 16
    Dex 16
    Con 14
    Wis 12
    Int 12
    Cha 10

    Stat Distribution with Gear also make SF Pots Viable but just don't want to spend a lot of plat or inventory space.
    I think that I'll get maybe 200 of em or so.

    I's unclear whether you're leaning towards 6 Ranger or 2 Fighter now. It's also unclear whether "seals the deal for the Helf Cleric Dille" means you want it or not.
    Or whether or you want both?
    If you want Ranger, I'd start with a 13 Int and use a +1 tome. More skill points @ lvl 3.
    If you want Cleric Dilly you need a 13 Wis.
    If you start Cha @ 10 you could do both.

    Str 16
    Dex 16 (+1 tome before 12)
    Con 14
    Int 13 (+1 tome @ 3 for skill points)
    Wis 13 (for Cleric Dilly)
    Cha 8

    Was trying to decide between.

    1) Near Pure Barb 18/2w/e with Helf Cleric Dilletante and Heavier SF Pot use. Just wanted someone that has played it to weigh in on it.

    or something like

    2) The 2Rogue/6Ranger/12Barb UMD and trap combo seems a bit overkill with Cleric Dille. Choosing another race and dropping Wis to 10 and boosting Cha and or Int a lil more seems more attractive.

    It's really the fine subtle details within both builds and the interaction with the game that I'll figure out as I play it.

    No1 seems a lil more stream line and simple to play.

    No2 has much more utility and great playability that I'm used to (but honestly a lil tired of)

    Went with your idea and <3 it so far...2Rogue/6Ranger(Tempest1)/2 (of12?)Barbarian

    Decided against the SF Pots too much plat (I don't keep much <1mill total on 12 toons)

    It's pretty fun to play, versatile and survivable with TN aligned and CC Superior Stability items.

    The only issue I have is with the Helf Artificer Dille I took...

    1st level, Use Arti Scrolls/Wands as level 1 Arti, +2 UMD and +1 CL with Scrolls, Exotic Wpn Prof RXBows (which I don't use)

    Imp Dille 1, Use Scrolls/Wands as level 2 Arti (all other classes are at 4th lvl equivalent) and UMD CL bonus extends to potions

    => Here with Mokune atm...Imp Dille 2, Use Scrolls/Wands as level 3 Arti (all others 7th lvl) UMD CL bonus entends to wands/staves

    Imp Dille 3, Use Scrolls/Wands as level 4 Arti (all others 10th which = 100% chance on level 5 scrolls and 95% chance on lvl 6 scrolls) UMD and CL bonus extends to arms and armor.

    Pros- Bonus to UMD is nice, +1 CL makes a Jump potion or Shield Scroll last 2 minutes instead of 1...
    - Tasty Arti Scroll Use (Elemental Mastery) Stoneskin Wands

    Cons- UMD Bonus doesn't help with using Artificer Scrolls
    UMD on Arificer scrolls is ridiculously high vs other scrolls of same lvl
    Arificer scrolls are GD $$$ expensive compared to other scrolls of same lvl
    Equivalent lvl of the Improved Dille Enh Line doesn't progress logically like the other class dilletantes.

    Have considered swapping it for SF UMD, Wiz Dille, or Fighter Dille for a couple points of strength and DCs of trips sunders.

    But am hoping there is a silver lining to this turd of a dille as I get a few more character levels...
