    Default Why not Horses?

Horses in DDO. Someone told me they exist in LOTR (not sure if they really do). I realize all this running around keeps our toons in tip-top shape, but could we discuss horses? Maybe even a quest with horses? Perhaps horses in wilderness areas?

It might be kind of fun to fight from horseback. The devs could introduce a new monster or two to keep pace, such as The Centaur!

Just tossing it out there. Discuss.

    Let's not forget Unicorns!

    /signed

I'd love some extra speed/"bank space" (saddle space) and would be willing to pay TP for the convinience, not to mention the awesomeness if it is in fact Unicorns and other cool mounts.

Also, maybe give them to Paladins for free.

Just saying, paladins need serious love.

    Also,

    Unicorns!

Exactly! What's a paladin on horseback?

    A knight!

And while we're adding to the list, what about Pegasuses......Pegasi......more than one Pegasus.

By the way: You can't have a Unicorn. They only hang around virgins, which leaves me out too.

Seriously though, I'd spend PP on a horse, if only to use it to make grinding in wilderness areas a little less lengthy and a lot more interesting. Turbine might even want to sell them in the store and make real $$ off it.

Isn't barking dogs enough. They drive me crazy. I want to yell at my dog in my house when I hear them.

I don't really want grease like horse poo all over Eberron making me save against it.

To many people would laugh after I failed my save

I really like the idea of riding various types of horses/steeds. Like palys can ride great big lions, necros can ride shadowy horses that breathe fire.

Hot chicks can ride scantily clad on sea horses....

    Hell yeah!

.......since you currently cannot actually saddle and ride a barbarian, on haste or otherwise.

Visually... ok, might be cool see some horses around, but... Why do you want a horse? More speed to go from harbor to marketplace entrance? I mean... even the wilderness areas are "small" enough to take a stroll.

"mounts" as they are known, are not needed in DDO. If we needed mounts for an explorer area then I'd never go there. I'd rather pull out my toenails with tweezers than mind numbingly watch myself ride a horse for 5 minutes just to get somewhere.

    Talking

If you could own a horse then the trolls would flee.

On another note, they would be a good bit more difficult to do well. As mounted combat would be needed (which direction you swing from would become a decision), you'd need to approach things at a 90 degree angle, the horse would need to attack as well (kicking, forwards/backwards). Also the assumption that it would fight when you dismounted. Would it be accessible/callable in quest? I think several rounds/improvements on pets are needed before horses/mounts should be visited.

    Ask and ye shall receive.

Bronies: For those who get it, no explanation is needed; for those who don't, none will do.

I was on the fence, but now I think they are a great idea!
