Umd 95%=25%?

Is there some actual reason a visual 95% chance to activate on a heal scroll actually means I fail 3/4th of the time?

unlikely, but are u rolling a 1 75% of the time?
check ur roll, may wanna post a screenshot of u while using a scroll (and more importantly: the die roll)
a combat log copy will work too i suppose

RNG would dictate that I would reasonably hit around 95% of the time over time. But I've literally seen 25% casts, tons of failures, all over the place. I've even seen failures when it shows 100%, so I'm not quite sure what the deal is. I've even done the match of my UMD, which is high enough to activate certain scrolls without the d20 roll, and it fails. It's really annoying.

Are heal scrolls subject to ASF? a divine spell. Never thought to check. While IMDing GH scolls though I often "doh" prolly work better w/o the tower shield...

Actually, 95% UMD means 100%, as the minimum you can roll is 1.
Heal scrolls dont have ASF.

So the only reason I can think of is Concentration fail.

Can you please write the whole scenario? was it on your ship or in the middle of a battle?

It's from a variety of scrolls, wearing nothing that would actually cause arcane spell failure, sometimes it would be in combat in terms of heal scrolls but otherwise they're just for prebuffs.

funny. someone else today posted an image of scrolling mass invis (110% chance to cast successfully) and failing.

Ah, I was going to ask about this, having the occasional failure when the info for the item says something like "110%" had me puzzled.

I was scrolling Exp Retreat scrolls for Risia jumping last week. Percentile was showing 95%, but I kept having fails. Was all til I checked the actual UMD score vs. the scroll UMD.

Meh, I've been playing a UMD toon since I started... The DDO dice have always seemed to be SLIGHTLY weighted..... Most certainly not to some great extent.. Not after many many many thousands of UMD checks I've perfomred throwing scrolls and wands...

None. It looks like the reduction to umd difficulty is being counted twice in the tooltip...so that's apparently overestimated by 10%.
