But, your analogy is poor. They are a global business with regional chains. They serve food to a local community. They have different menus depending on where you go, and in fact do celebrate local holidays. This actually ties in with your OP, which references Applebees as the basis for your idea. It's a local place - everyone at your Applebees is likely to be American, or at least staying in America. They're not going to have a problem with the local community giving specialized deals to their nation's armed forces.
However, Turbine is a global business with a global community. We don't have "DDO Korea". We don't have "DDO Germany". We have.. DDO. We have regional language options, and a supposed "DE Server", but it is nonetheless the same game, same product, same specials, et cetera.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea to appreciate our servicemen and women. But... buy them a beer. Extend a heartfelt thanks. Maybe send a care package to them while they are overseas. Let's appreciate them (and ourselves) that way.
But I think Turbine could stand to lose more than they would gain from incorporating this idea into their marketing strategies.
As for the rest of what you typed... let's not turn this political, okay?
