Really, what IS a supscription nickname? When I went to my account page, I saw an option to change my subscription nickname. I changed it, but I don't see where that nickname applies/is used?

Well I see you as "Fluffy Bunny Honey Cakes".......was that the nickname you changed it to?
Maybe that's because it's the first time you're posting on the forum.
On G-Land : Flavilandile, Blacklock, Yaelle, Millishande, Larilandile, Gildalinde, Tenalafel, and many other...
it's just the name you give it when you start up the account.
it is seperate from your user name and forum handle probably for security reasons.
mine is some garbage i created when I tried the free trial.
it's not important what it is unless you have multiple
accounts for your household, then you could have a
joe (nickname),
harry,
trish,
mom
dad.
so you could keep straight whose account you were looking at and cancel
the correct one (if vip).
The Office of the Exchequer. 1750 on all live servers via Pure pugging. Thank you very much to all who helped carry a gimp . (wayfinder was a soloist build)
Because you can have multiple 'subscriptions' to the games on the same account a way was needed to be able to differentiate them hence the nickname option.
Unless you only have one subscription you won't see this nickname on the launcher though (if you have more than one you are asked to choose which to log into when you launch the game and login).
You can basically use it to differentiate between multiple subscriptions so you know which you want to choose since your character and status/items are unique to those three things in this order:
The game username
The subscription to the game on that username
The world server created on (pertains to characters specifically and any 'per-server' options you unlock)
