    Default Half-Elf or Warforged?

    I play a 36pts lvl20 Half-Elf with fighter dile and it's amazing!

Could some experienced Lord of Blades player sell a Warforged to me?
Why would I go Wargorged instead of Half-Elf? I'm tempted to, just need a few words here to encourage me!

I know the basics and have a lvl16 warforged favored soul. just need real use opinions.
I don't need stats or damage breakdown. I know what they can do, I just need opinion from whoever actualy played at least one of those races as fvs!

    Warforged Pros IMHO:
    - Better looking (since helves are extremely displeasant to the eyes)
    - Immunities (I hate fleshies weakness! poison, exaustion, level drain... weaklings!)
    - Useful faith weapon and bonus
(*3* more CON is not a Pro for me because helves get *+1con* with adaptability wich unlocks tofness III, because I never take tofness VI both on race and class, because I never start with 20 con in a melee wf-fvs)
    - More respect. Nobody takes a melee helf fvs seriously. (untill I rule the quest!)

    Cons IMHO:
    - Lower heal amp, means lower self heals
    - Worthless capstone and faith active enhancements
    - Stuck to greatswords (generally not an issue, since the best THF weapons are gswords anyway, but for trash dr breaking it cuts the *AH* versatility helves have)

    Am I missing something?
    I don't care...

Seemed like id be a lil pointless to be a robot as a favored. I mean favored get the 10 dr, they have buffs for everything, stacking human heal amp you heal more. You get the versatility, get fighter without taking fighter. Immune to sleep.

Seems like you lose with the robot.

Biggest advantage is that innate warforged adamantine DR stacks with the capstone DR, since they're both the same metal type. This allows a warforged favored soul to have between 11 and 15 DR/adamantine at cap, depending on enhancements/feats. Shaving 15 damage off every hit is awfully nice.

The other advantage you didn't mention is the Warforged Power Attack enhancement line, which gives +1 to +3 damage when using power attack (actually, +2 to +6, since you'd be using a two-hander).

I have a capped warforged favored soul, and it was very easy to level and is practically indestructible at cap, even almost completely ungeared (it's an alt that I rarely play). That said, I'm often tempted to TR to a half-elf or human -- the free capstone healing is just too good.

I have never played a Helf so I can't comment on that.

But IMHO WF FVS is the easy button and is awesome.

I have diesel Human FVS that has soloed many raids (VoD etc and got past the Judge and Jailer in ToD).

I have a WF WIZ that is a blast.

But my fav toon is my WF FVS. I am actually going to TR my WF WIZ just because I want to have a stupidly geared WF FVS when I tr him...

As someone getting ready to tr their wf fvs into a helf, I'd say helf. WF FvS was really nice...but after tanking raid bosses got harder, I find myself wanting the survivability I'd gain from being a helf. The healing amp is the real killer here - I could be getting more than my hp back in heals if I was not a wf thanks to all the healing amp gear I had to get just to get my heals to hit me for a bit above the normal amount.

That said, horc is also very nice, especially if you don't want the dr and therefore want to splash fighter...but I like my 10 dr too much.

    Half elf.

And this is coming from someone who plays a wf fvs as main.

The (free!) capstone healing that a fleshie fvs can do is incredibly powerful, and due to how healing amp works it just isn't really as viable on wf.

    Some stuff I would add:

    WF pros:
Docent of defiance (this is situationally huge. 10 more DR against EDQ2 is REDICULOUSLY good)
    immune to petrification (LOB kiter)
    immunities (not as big endgame)
ESoS (but shield capstone is a joke so maybe go CLW cap anyway)
terror (good trash weapon even at endgame)

    Fleshie pros:
    can DC spellcast
    more effective self healing
easier to get cha for 9th level spells/sp
easier to get cha for umd (fireshield/teleport)
don't NEED to grind pally PL or take empowered healing feat (WF might)
cove armor is bada$$. 20% chance of 30hp proc=6 DR, so 16 DR w/ capstone...almost as good as DoD and 10x the mobility!

Human is also very solid. A bit less amp due to no monk dill but the extra feat and skill points (balance anyone?) are very nice indeed. FVS arent particularly featstarved but 1 more means +22hp, at a minimum.

    Both are incredibly effective.

One of my main characters is a wf fs and has been caped / endgame for almost 2 years.

I think WF is a better first character, but once you pick up gearing, particularly torc and greensteel, I find myself more and more interested in doing a TR into a half elf.

That said, if I had to start over today on a new account, I would probably go WF.
