    Default Optimising Firewall + Grease?

    Greetings

As my WF AM wizard approached lvl 7 I am looking forward to using a combo of Firewall and Grease. I am pondering which items/feats/enhancements/etc will make the combo work optimally.

Feats: Maximize and Empower (SP willing), Heighten (only after I level up further), Quicken (not really more power but easier to use), SF/GSF: Evoc for firewall and SF/GSF: Conf for grease.

Gear: Sup Inferno clicky, SF/GSF evoc/conj for DC, fire/arcane lore for crits.

AP: AM Spell Mastery I and II (evoc) and AM Secondary Spell Mastery (conj)
Fire dmg, fire crit dmg and fire crit mult (not sure if taking all of the crit/crit mult is worth it though)

Would I be overlooking something else that will better the use of that combo?

Web and firewall will work much better. You can slip and fall on your own grease. Plus anyone that is with you may get upset with grease all over the place.

    This.

Plus, I would like to add to that, if you can afford to take solid fog, gather a lot of mobs, use Solid and put a web+fw in it. Solid fog gives you +5 DC to your web basically (it gives -5 Reflex save to the mobs in the fog).

I vote for the solid fog and grease combo. On the stairs before entering the Shadow fight in ToD.
Con is not a dump stat, but reading comprehension is not a dump skill!

I dont have alts, just mules. Find me as Darivian on Thelanis.

But, as pointed out above, if you start the festivities w/ Solid Fog that's better than any two Spell Focus Feats for any Reflex-based spells.

(Edit - posted before drank coffee - bad plan. Thanks SS)

    Thanks for the replies.

I had assumed that Wall of Fire would burn away the Web the way Fireball does- but I take it thats not the case from the endorsements. Grease is possible as SLA before Web saving some mana and I mostly solo with my wiz so I am the only one tripping in the grease if I use that. I will try both though to see how it works.

Solid Fog sounds interesting - I will definitely look into that. I take it that I may have covered all other bases wrt. my actual question since noone has commented on that.

A Wall of fire will destroy a web if they are cast in the exact same spot. This happens when you target a creature, cast Web and WOF.

Use your Mouse Look when casting, and it will be nearly impossible to cast them in the exact same spot, and they work well together.

Not if you cast web AFTER you cast WoF. Go figure.

    This.

There's nothing quite like playing a melee toon that's constantly on their arse because a caster keeps throwing grease where the fighting is going on. Grease can totally and completely take a melee out of the DPS equation.
    The Fockers of Argo
LOOON (Rogue); Reaperbait (Warlock); Eatuhdiq (Sorc); Fuglymofo (Barbarian)
    Buttscracher (Arty), Hobaggin (Druid)

Get the boots with Freedom of movement on them problem solved. Or give the divine a pot for the buffs.
