    Default Earth Savant

So I have a level 20 Earth Savant Sorcerer that I play occasionally, not really enough to pay attention to all the details. So last night I was going through my characters gear and I discovered well let's just say some duplication, like three spell pen items.

So what are fashionable Human Earth Savants wearing these days?

pretty much the standard gear from you con6 or 7 (if envneomed cloak.) epic helm of frost. usually the epic boots for the extra spell lv thing. Robe of the diobloist for the +3 conjuration and stuff, I'd suppose the hand slot for the +45hp GS and the goggles for the sp cha skills item.

All the regular stuff like heavy fort gfl str6 and so on would be slotted accordingly into epics. If less then it would take up more then likly the helm with mino's for toughness and heavy fort. The belt for gfl, the necklace for con 6 (until you have lv 18 then you can equip a con 6 gfl item from amrath)

You'd want a conjuration item, im not to sure on +2's but it's pretty easy to get a +1 in bracers or with the regular diabloist robe.

But for lv 20 it's prolly the top paragraph there, with various epic jewlery sets from maybe fens, an epic ring of spell storing if your the luckiest sob alive. And others. Just look up epics on wiki to see what quests drop what to see what you'd want to go for.

Being a little slow when it comes to spellcasting, and my search fu is easier weak or the information is non-existent...

As I have said I haven't played my sorc much other than shroud for the past several years.

Why do I need +3 on my conjuration spell DCs. I checked the compendium and DDO wiki and hunted these forums and I don't understand what the +3 gets me. My spell list Melf's, Acid Blast and Black Dragon Bolt don't have a DC check do they? Acid Spray has one, but it is an evocation spell. Does the +3 apply to earth grab?

Thanks for helping a newb out.

Earth Savants are, strictly based on their savant spell line, the least impacted by spell DC's of all the savants. That said conjuration is a handy DC to boost because it not only affects your damage spells that are subject to saves it is also the save check on your best/most likely method of doing crowd control : Web.

As for your gear question, Goodspeed has some good suggestions but getting a 3 piece epic chrono abashai set may or may not be within your realistic reach. If your backup damage line is Ice then I'd recommend getting the Frozen Tunic from the new challenges. If it's Fire then I'd suggest the Cloak of Flames from the challenges. Both of these items will give you Superior or better focus effect for their damage type as well as Superior lore (12% crit) and other effects and epic slots. Get a Thamors belt and ring from ToD for the savant bonus.

Thanks Polarkin, I have no clue how I missed web. Can I blame the compendium?

I am thinking farming the robe is okay, I have 3 epic raid tokens on this character and already have the seal. Plus a complete set for the boots cause I think people took pity on my poor character a week ago.

Just that stupid ToD ring, 37 runs down...

ya the great thing about earths is you have the ability to basically have a usefull cc spell that you can use in epic. Web doesn't really need those amazing 43dc like the others do.

It works just fine with less. And since you already have to take spell focus conj, and theirs a nice robe that gives +3 to it, and before that you can get a +1 easy, hell it's just a win all the way around leveling and end game.
