Only time I even mention difficulty in a party I didn't start, is to verify that the LFM they put up is still accurate. If it is what I want, I stay, but if it's not I go do my own thing. Alot of people I've run across don't put up accurate LFMs though.

It's not uncommon at all for like, the LFM to be set to one quest, while the text says another. Occasionally /who reveals the party members to be in yet a third adventure.

Asking what the frack is up is sometimes called for.

If the person in question where this observant, and had a genuine concern about an LFM discrepancy, he would have likely sent a tell to the group leader asking before joining in 99% of the time. (1% to lazy to use the tell, but he'd likely state "Which quest are we doing because your lfm says this, but the text says that...")

I was in this Shroud run and the leader was in the process of asking the blue bars which included my wizard if we felt comfortable running on hard when the guy started wanting to do it on elite. It was only after he called us names that he got the boot. Then a favored soul said if it was only going to be done on normal then he was out and left. The funny thing was they didn't wait for us to answer on doing it on hard. We ended up doing it hard in 42 minutes without them. I thought it was handled very well. On a side note the loot from the extra chest was not impressive.

I wanted to do ELITE! I am horribly gimp and you guys are going to have to carry my soul stone the entire way, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make. Now let's break thread and reform so you can get me my LEET favor and XPS!!!

    Default Just a newbie

Now.... I’m a new player but I can’t believe that people would join an LFM and try to get the difficulty changed and even be rude or pushy about it... I admit that because I’m a fairly new player... when I join an LFM I don’t ask what quest… as that would be silly... but I do ask how to get the quest and directions to get to the quest. (I usually apologize for asking... as I feel that I should know prior to joining the LFM)

I do some times ask the difficulty just prior to entering to confirm... as I have had it happen that the quest was started on normal and the LFM said elite... someone who was even more of a newbie then me entered the quest on the wrong difficulty.... no one noticed until I asked.

I’m aware that I am one of those annoying new players but I do try my best not to be...

Actually, this is the kind of new player everyone wishes they would encounter, vs what most often encounter. Keep up the good work

Yeah, no worries bro. People in general prefer to have someone new that asks questions and eager to learn over having the expert 5 year vet that is incompatent and selfimportant. Questions are always good and it shows initiative, and in some cases it gives us that enjoy teaching the opertunity to talk and listen to our own voices
