    My two bits:

    • First off, I think your stat pts are too evenly spread; it's better to focus a bit more than to be too generalized. STR-based is usually best, although I might consider DEX-based if you don't have any DEX tomes.
    • WF Slash + WSS is a waste of feats on this sort of dark monk. If you really want to use blades rather than handwraps, stick with short swords: virtually the same DPS and you save two feats for better things. Grind up a couple of Cutthroat Smallblades the next time Crystal Cove is open for business.
    • Switching to SSs makes the ftr dilly a waste; I presume you took it just for longsword prof.
    • I consider Mobility and Power Crit to also be wasted feats. You should definitely add Power Atk, GTWF, and Imp Crit Pierce in there.
    • Rogue 14 adds very little to this build; I would either take monk 7 for Wholeness of Body and +10% heal amp; or ftr 1 for an extra feat and some more HPs.

    In case I seem too negative, I like rogue 13 / monk 6 as a combo; I just don't like your build.

    No offense taken. I put it out there knowing the someone might shred it, but just wanted an opinion. Threw it together in about 20 minutes while stuffing lunch in my face before running back to work. Didn't really have a lot of time to plan everything, but I was hoping it was a decent basis. I didn't take the fighter dil for just the longsword pro. I also used it for the extra fighter str from enhancements so I could use the AP for dex to get to 17 for imp twf and greater twf, which I meant to take and got interupted when I was working on this build and mistakenly did not take it. Thanks for catching that. The change to 13rogue/7 monk makes sense, so thank you there. I guess I could also not worry about the longsword deal and go with other feats. What stats should I drop a bit? This build was for dps, so was thinking Str, but not sure what else to do with the stats. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again, and I rather have someone be honest about my build.

    Will try a rework on this and repost at some time.

    Default version 2.0 rogue/monk

    Here is my second attempt at this dual class character. Really trying for a dps dealer. Let me know what you think. I don't mind criticism either. I want to make one of these toons to play, so I am hoping to work the bugs out here, rather than waste time working on it in game and finding it fails miserably.

    Firstly, I won't go into enhancements as those are easily swapable.
    I will also give you a warning that I haven't actually leveled a rogue yet, so take my advice on your own peril.

    First thing, I don't know if I really like your statspread, mostly due to "con is not a dump stat".
    I'd rather go something like:

    Str:15(+levels)
    Dex: 16(+1 level/tome)
    Con: 13
    Int: 12
    Wis: 13
    Cha: 8

    This will allow you to skip on the fighter dilly (IMO, +1str isn't really worth much compared to what you could be getting.) and instead pick up either barb (HP!) or cleric (easy heal scrolls)
    It will also let you through the lower levels with a decent AC through the wis bonus.

    You could also swap cha and wis around and get heal scrolls from FvS dilly or the save bonus from the pally dilly.
    In that case you'd be skimping on your AC but would have an easier time to reach no-fail heals w/o any dilly spending.



    Feat wise...
    ATM I see:

    Toughnessx2
    TWF
    iTWF
    gTWF
    Dodge
    Power Attack
    Precision
    Luck of Heroes
    Slicing Blow

    Personally I'd swap out slicing blow, luck of heroes and precision for iCrit (pierce if SS/bludgeon if handwraps), iSunder (-fort is ace) and SF:UMD.


    Also, for all that is holy. Get improved evasion as one of your rogue feats.


    Skill wise. Not maxing UMD is a no-no.
    Even with 7 monk levels you should be able to max out UMD and the trapster skills, anything on top of that should be considered gravy.
