What's the Best Melee Armor

It would depend entirely on the situation and the character in question.

Defensively, the epic tier 3 cavalry plate is nice for a heavy armor user.

Offensively, epic marilith chain is good.

Just my 2cp, but like he ^^^ said, definitely a lot of variability depending on situation, build, other gear, etc.

Any time enemies take full damage from fire, I'm pretty sure red scale currently tops the charts. Unfortunately, many enemies are at least resistant to fire, so epic marilith is usually the best.

Well if you were running nothing but epic, and if the land of the dead ever peeks it's head through the door to offer an actual good content change, then the red dragon scale all the way.

If you were still grinding out vod/hound/anything amrath related then one of the other 2. But once you turn your back on that, id say pretty much red dragon scale.

I have the red dragon scale on my lvl 20 fighter as well as the regular marilith chain and tier 3 cavalry plate. When I tank I use the plate. For everytjing else its the chain. Just waiting on another seal to make it epic. Don't even use the dragon scale as its about worthless for what I do. My barb has the epic marilith chain and I never swap it out. Too much added to dps with it on and it lets me use an epic gem with my gloves of the claw.
